Adrenal Fatigue
Is there a link between sleep apnea and adrenal fatigue? I was just researching hypochlorhydria (which I think is the real cause of my GERD) and I came upon adrenal fatigue. The symptoms match pretty well, especially the part about feeling better after 6pm. Can sleep apnea itself bring about adrenal...

Re: Attn Newbies: your brain may be fried.....
I left two jobs and was laid off from another because I just couldn't hack it. I couldn't manage everything that was required of me. It's like I am looking back and seeing the wreckage that sleep deprivation has wrought in my life. Like: WOW: that wasn't *me* that made that decision or produced tha...

APAP not mixing well with GERD
I haven't been able to use my APAP for a few days. When I use it, I start getting shortness of breath and increased discomfort in my chest. My GERD was really bad Monday night and I ended up going to the ER early next morning. In the end, all they gave me was some sucralfate, pepcid, and anxiety med...

Re: First few nights on new APAP
I had severe acid reflux that would cause vomiting no matter my diet or over the counter medication. Now I take Protonix, There is now way to get heartburn now. I am hispanic and pretty much won't eat it if it isn't spicy, and there is no such thing as too hot, I LOVE IT!!! I'm seeing the doctor so...

Re: First few nights on new APAP
Had this issue for years, did all of the OTC remedies. Finally, 4-5 years ago, my doc prescribed Nexium ("The Purple Pill). I NEVER have a problem now, and I can eat--anything Jalopeno poppers, pizza, spaghetti . . . Ask you doc about a trial. http://a1149861.sites.myregisteredsite.com/oth-stickman...

Re: First few nights on new APAP
I was elevating my whole torso so I was at about 60 degrees.
I've stopped eating 3 hours before bedtime other than water.
I have prevacid that I was prescribed 3 weeks ago but the acid reflux over the weekend was bad. I suppose it will go down as long as I watch my diet very strictly.

First few nights on new APAP
I got my APAP (m auto a-flex) last Friday. First thing I did when I got home was stow that crappy CPAP away and set up my new APAP. I woke up on Saturday feeling no better. I also woke up with a lot of chest pain from my GERD. I was stupid enough to go out to a mexican restaurant and ate some jalape...

transitioning from cpap to apap
So my apap (respironics auto a-flex) just arrived at work today and I've never been so eager to go to sleep before. I'm not sure what I should set my apap to. Initially, my doctor prescribed a pressure of 12 but that was just a guess. I had a in-lab titration study this week and the technician said ...

Re: advice on replacing current cpap
I did ask my insurance about reimbursements if I buy it on my own first. They said that is fine as long as I have a prescription.

Re: advice on replacing current cpap
My doctor is resistant to APAPs. When I asked for one he said he'll order a titration study since I never had one. After talking to some of the guys through the chat on this site, I asked for a lab titration study. The technician even said he thinks an auto will be a good idea based on the data and ...

advice on replacing current cpap
I want to get a better machine to replace my current one, which is a Respironics M series DS100. Its a very basic machine with no data capabilities, which is something I really want. I, like many others, want an APAP, and am looking at the Resp. Auto/A-flex machine. I was going to order one today si...
