Re: Poll: GERD and Sleep Apnea
FWIW - I take Pepcid every night before bed otherwise heartburn keeps me awake at night. Have been doing this for a couple of years now. It went away when I started drinking more water during the day and not eating too heavily for dinner but has returned. I wonder if that has anything to do with som...

Re: Hope I don't get Sued
People should stop watching that channel unless they're in the mood for comic relief. That's all it's good for.

Re: Frustrated - Lost
Progress note: - Enabled C-Flex (level 3) and increased pressure to 8 (from 7) and ramp pressure to 6 for 30 mins (vs 4 for 20). Amazing that C-Flex wasn't enabled considering how much easier it is to breathe against the pressure this way... - I realized I need to put the mask on and turn the machi...

Re: VPAP, BPAP, CPAP sMAP
So in essence a CPAP with c-flex kind of becomes a BiPAP?

Re: Frustrated - Lost
If you have the Pro 2 (as you have linked), you have a data capable machine. However, you need to get the software. Once you have the software in hand, you can determine how well the machine is treating you and go from there. Just a note.. you said snoring was the problem. My Bipap ( listed below) ...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
Thanks for everyone's concern. I do plan on visiting the doctor at some point but first I must attempt to make this work myself with the tools I was given. I'd be embarrassed to go back to the doctor after three years only to say I haven't even tried to give this a fair chance. My heart issues are w...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
Hokay.....everyone else has seemingly addressed the machine, which is a good one!!!! Let me address the mask -- it's truly the holy grail of the xPAP treatment. It's where the "rubber meets the face", as it were...... You were provided (or bought) a ComfortGel mask. What size?? Does it fit your fac...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
Thank you, and you're right, I remember now. I was told to use ramp at first and it was easier than without it judging by the other night's experience. 7 seems like a pretty high pressure to me though ... at least it feels like it. What makes it hard is to breathe against it consciously. At lower p...

Re: Sleep Study Facilities - What's Typical?
Mine was done at a sleep lab attached to one of the hospitals here. There are about 5 or 6 rooms lining a hallway, arranged in a "hotel" fashion with a TV w/cable, a desk, a large bed and a bathroom with a shower (hospital type bathroom with handles everywhere). On the other side of the hallway, the...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
For whatever it's worth it is perfectly normal to have one nostril plugged up at all times..typically they alternate during the night and day.. I read an article awhile back where it said one nostril open at a time is common to most people...nothing to be concerned about..you can get plenty of air ...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
Personally, I think you have one of the best CPAP machines made. It was my first machine and is still my sentimental favorite. If nobody has PM'd you with the Setup instructions, I'm posting them below. I would suggest copying them and saving to a file on your computer. If you need any further info...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
alpha, I noticed in your equipment list that you are using a passover humidifier rather than a humidifier that can heat. Cool cpap air causes congestion and stuffiness for me. Passover humidification isn't enough for me. I don't need a LOT of heated humidification...I keep mine set on very low heat...
