card downloads: how often?

Hello, Just got my card reader and software. Wow, so much information!!! How often do you people download the data from the card? Do you do it every morning to see how the night went? Do you do it once a week to get a more global idea? Do you change a setting on your machine, give it a few days and ...

I use the Dove bar soap. Don't know if they make a liquid version. I just get tons of it on my hands and hand wash the mask, or fill the sink with water while rubbing the bar soap under the tap. I was kinda surprised they recommended Dove, it's probably got all kinds of hand softening additives. But...

I'm surprised that no one else here uses plain unscented Dove by Unilever. That soap is precisely listed in the manual for my mask as the one to use.

CPAP with C-Flex may be good enough, I can't say.

I can however compare plain CPAP versus APAP or APAP with C-Flex. Both APAP are MUCH more comfortable. After a month on CPAP, switching to APAP was almost weird. I had grown to expect fighting against 15cm on each breath out.

Remstar Auto - where's the secret manual?

Hello all, Thanks to all the great advice I got in here, I decided to take matters into my own hands and start telling my GP and DME what hardware I need (as opposed to taking what I was given). That means I traded my Remstar Plus for a Remstar Auto with C-Flex and heated humidifier. So... how do I ...

cleaning mask seal with alcohol wipes

Hello,

I saw some references on this forum to cleaning a mask's silicone seal with isopropyl alcohol. Ii'm thinking about using some of those isopropyl alcohol pads used in the medical world.
Has anyone been cleaning their mask with anything similar? Any issues?
Thx.

Once you take the equipment from your local DME you are locked in. At that point, billmyinsurance.com can't help you. Why is that ? Isn't it possible to cancel the rental from the DME after a month or 2 and start a new one from billmyinsurance.com? I just got my cpap a couple weeks ago from Apria a...

Wow! So CFlex makes aerophagia worse? That's good to know.

Swallowing air (on 15cms) became a big problem for me. Luckily since moving to a BiLevel (not specifically for that reason) the problem went away (say 95%). Lemme try to understand this. A BiLevel reduces the pressure when you exhale, right? So does the swallowing of air happen at that time? That's...

But really it's about how you feel. So, how do you feel, fcaen ? Is your treatment helping you? Are you having trouble adjusting? Let us know. People here will try to help. I feel I'm sleeping much better than I used to before getting treatment for my severe apnea. I also feel like I'm swallowing a...

Oh, I see! Thanks for the explanation. Auto-titration is not exhalation-specific relief, it's all-around relief

Oh really? Auto machines, even those without CFlex, offer some relief during exhalation?
(thanks for the reply by the way)

who manages your sleep apnea?

Hello, I have a feeling that my general practionionner is clueless when it comes to CPAP technologies. His role seems limited to prescribing a sleep study and then prescribing a plain CPAP machine. And the DME's RT didn't seem too interested in my care or too knowledgeable. After spending a little t...

Who needs auto machines?

Hello, I just got my plain CPAP after a sleep study. Am I missing out by not having an auto-titrating machine? Or are those only for people who didn't go through a study? I have a goatee and various amounts of leakage during the night, so I'm wondering if an auto machine would adjust for that. Thank...
