Re: Sleep apnea caused by sitting too long?
Hi, Guess I'll have to agree with Rooster.....I'm a government employee and sit most of day at computer but on vacation days, you might find me after an 18 hour straight triathlon-run/bike/kayak and I'm not cured that night?? Maybe it's the wetsuit keeping the fluid in check.(joking) I too, hope peo...

Re: OT - Prayers needed - Bushfire disaster Aust
My thoughts and prayers are with ALL in fire zones right now-Eckhart Tolle says "the present moment is sometimes unacceptable and aweful"-However, somehow we have to learn how to accept it and work WITH it and not against it; Only then can our lives be transformed. None of us know WHY these tragedie...

Re: Intro from newbie in Canada
Hi, I'm from Prince Edward Island (eastern coast of Canada) and I WILL be purchasing my own machine after I have my last appointment with Sleep specialist in 2 weeks.......it takes 2 years to get an appointment!! Yes, 2 years. I have to take a two day trip to see him. Ayway, that being said- I work ...

I have the hybrid too and it's great. If you breath from your nose, you breath from your nose-that's a main reason that full face masks are made. It's comfortable too! Don't sleep ANY nights without therapy-unless you like Russian Roulette.

Re: I can't get myself to use the machine.
I'm new too and was on a pink cloud, thinking I liked the air blowing into my face but now that I have doctor perscribed pressure of 18/10, it's not fun any more but as I've learned in another group I belong to "One day at a TIme" and if you don't like it ...... Fake it til you make it. I know it wi...

Re: Poll How many days a week do you exercise
Exercise is part of my life-it's part of who I am. Regardless of how sick or tired I became in all of this- I never gave up my exercise regime. The alarm goes off at 4:30 am, I'm out on the road for a 10-15 km run and as my name implys I workout at Crossfit 5 times a week. I throw X-country skiing i...

Re: postsecret
Hi folks, Gosh! If this were my first day, I'd be appauled and join a different site immediately (and yes, I know, that's just my own personal preference) because I find that PostCard or whatever terminology I'm suppose to use- very offensive! Where did Fatfeminist get it? What was it attached to? I...

Wow folks! I have to get to 18/10 and I'm presently at 15/9 so, I don't feel too bad about my progress in 1 week of having BiPAP machine.

Re: CPAP Destruction and Disastrous Doc office visit.
I've waited over 2 years to get in to Sleep specialist and this is a normal wait time in Altantic Canada. If you talk like that at work or anywhere else, you deserve to lose your job. Sorry! But my empathy stopped when you started the profanity.

Re: Are there any legal products for improving athletes’ perform
Good morning, I'm in agreement with the first 4 responders-I'm new too and maybe we aren't quite up on what is proper 'ettiquette' in regards to posts. I don't think your question is one for this site. I too am a runner (did Boston Marathon a few years back) and competed in Body Building years ago b...

Re: Newbie, CrossFit Junkie, Needs Help
Good morning! (Nice to say the word 'good') Trials are going better than at the beginining. I think I have the BiPAP settings (IPAP MAX and RISE) set to suit my spontaneous breathing pattern. (1.6 and 400) How do I know? Well, although it takes me a really long time to fall asleep, about 1 and 1/2 h...

Newbie needs help with BiPAP settings
TheBiPAP trial is going just 'OK'. I don't have the cycle on machine set perfectly to match my own spontaneous breathing pattern yet, so I'm very conscious of every IN-OUT;IN-OUT etc and as the terminology goes- it 'flips' when I'm not quite ready but on a positive note, when I did wake up this am,...

New word needed??
Hi folks, I'm still 'new' and as I read I see so many similarities amongst us. One note that really strikes home is the Excessive Tiredness that we all had prior to treatment. I feel there should be a new word added to the Oxford Dictionary for tiredness for CPAP patients; A stronger, more descripti...
