Cottonmouth and Snoring
I guess that cottonmouth (waking up in the middle of the night with no saliva in your mouth) and snoring go hand in hand. I suffer from both. I use a ResMed VPAP Auto with a H5i humidifier and a chinstrap. The cottonmouth is most unpleasant and my wife isn't wild about the snoring. I use Biotene pri...

Re: Top of Mouth Dry and Cold
Julie, I stated that I AM a mouth breather but I didn't think that I did it at night. The only reason I can say that is because my wife says I don't. She is the one eight years ago who clued me in to my problem (stopped breathing and snored). Instead of taping the silence at night, I'd probably do b...

Re: Top of Mouth Dry and Cold
Hopefully this isn't a duplicate. If it is, please pardon me.
I, too, am a mouth breather. However, I wear a chin strap and don't believe I breathe through my mouth when I sleep. I'm looking for other possibilities.

Top of Mouth Dry and Cold
I have a ResMed 3i Humidaire compact CPAP machine and a ResMed Mirage Activa mask. Every night, sometime during the night, the top of my mouth gets totally dry and cold. It takes awhile to "work up" a little saliva so I can swallow. I only use distilled water in the machine and my setting is about 1...

Re: Medicare???
I was going to say they cover 100% as I have no expenses whatsoever. However, I also have secondary insurance and they may cover the 20% mentioned in the previous post.

Where is My Post?
I entered a post this morning regarding how to correct a leaking mask and I don't see it anywhere. Am I not looking in the right place or did I have an operator malfunction and click the wrong button? Let me try again. I have a Quattro Mirage full face CPAP mask that leaks after a relatively short p...

Re: switching to a full face mask
I have the same setup as you and have been using it for about the same amount of time. I decided I wanted a full face mask and got a Quattro. I really liked it, but after a few hours it would invariably leak. So as a result, I don't believe a full face mask is for me. If you could find one that didn...

Re: Waking Up Tired
Hi Barbara, Thanks for your comments. I have a chin device and I'm pretty sure it works or my wife would let me know. Same goes with leaks as there have been times when the mask may leak and she wakes me up to tell me. My current CPAP machine doesn't allow me to check stats, it's pretty basic. The i...

Waking Up Tired
I've had a CPAP for several years and thought my situation was typical until I "found" this forum. Every day I wake up tired. It can't be from my masks that I've used as they didn't leak and wake me up. However, I wake up several times during a typical night and then fall back to sleep for another c...

Re: Bad cold and Cpap = Useless
I have no idea why, but since I started CPAP about six years ago I haven't had a single cold. Not too bad for someone who had his left lower lobe removed 40 years ago and was always prone to bad colds and walking pneumonia. Whatever the reason, I'm happy.

Re: resmed software and clinician manual
I have had a large number of requests for both resscan 3.7 and the S8 clinicians manual. As a result, I'm looking for an easier way to send them. I'll get it to you somehow, it'll just take a little bit longer. Sorry for the delay Cheers K Ok, I'll be the village idiot (a job I do quite well, incid...

Re: Lonely, frustrated and depressed about CPAP, cannot sleep
I hate CPAP! I want to throw the stupid machine out the window and never deal with it again. I have now not slept for three nights in a row. Have been trying this for the past three weeks and feel like throwing in the towel. Have tried nasal mask, moved too much during the night, tried Swift LT nas...

Re: Benadryl is BAD news!
The reason I stopped taking Tylenol/acetaminophen in addition to my hydracodone is because it is not recommended to take over 4,000 mg of acetaminophen per day or you may be facing possible permanent liver damage. I was taking approximately 3,800 mg per day for almost five years. I have blood tests ...
