I did that once as an experiment - I was quite surprised at how much I DIDN'T toss and turn. I'd suggest just "give it a go" - mine has a built-in hard drive so capturing an entire sleep wasn't an issue - so assuming you can do that too then why not?

Sounds to me like something is DEFINATELY not right ... might be a good idea to seek a 2nd opinion - sounds like your existing doc is completely missing something.

This is probably not the noise - but - I used to get a small but noticeable "whistle" when breathing out with the quattro - it was coming from where the plastic elbow joins the mask (really needs a seal). A couple of turns of waxed dental floss cured it for good.

I'm also using the Quattra - and I usually have it cranked all the way in ... which means that there is very little room between my nose and that part of the mask.
