Re: Where to purchase SPO 7500 pulse oximeter?
Do not use J & R Medical Online Store. I got an SPO 7500F in Jan 2009 from them with no problem. That one was sent for repair/replacement to SPO Medical because the USB input broke and I couldn't get it to download. Since I had the software, I tried to buy just the oximeter, an SPO 7500D, from J & R...

Re: MIRAGE SWIFT LT QUALITY POLL
I've noticed a difference in the ability to get a good seal also, waking many times to adjust the pillows.
Got my first LT 12/08 and the replacenent pillows I now have take a lot of fiddling to stop leaks.
Here's hoping the manufacturer hears what we're trying to tell them!

Re: Dry mouth - but not mouth-breathing
Since I couldn't open or even separate my lips when I woke up, I figured nothing could be going in or out. My throat isn't dry when this happens. I have had an occasional leak or puff up, but never to the point of dryness (that I'm aware of). I had done a search and read a lot of other posts, this j...

Dry mouth - but not mouth-breathing
Last 3 nights I've awakened with the feeling that my mouth was glued shut. Teeth felt cemeted to every surface. I had to wiggle my cheeks til I got enough moisture to even begin to open my mouth. My tongue has a sore area on it too. It's as though I sucked the moisture right out of every tissue in m...

Where to purchase SPO 7500 - Problem solved
I have an SPO 7500 with a broken connection port on the unit. I am returning it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement, but I want to buy another one and tried J&R Medical. It looks as though they are not in stock and I want to have one overnighted. Their price is $378 plus $29 or so for over...

General Ins Question not just cpap related
We are changing our insurance coverage. The two choices for us seem to be Horizon Blue Cross Direct Access or Horizon Blue Cross PPO. Does anyone have experience with those two products? Is one more 'user friendly' than the other? We hope to choose the one with the best options and can't tell from t...

Power Out - What battery backup do I need?
Last night, we had a 3-4 hr power outage just before bedtime. So, I wasn't hosed up and tried to sleep without cpap - bad idea. Woke myself up gagging, etc., and decided it was time to get a battery backup. My husband offered to start the generator for me - that would have been restful!!! What do I ...

Re: Wake-Up Pill for Excessive Sleepiness
The first pill is probably Provigil. I am using temporarily to see if it helps at 200 mg a day, but don't always feel a huge improvement. It is expensive - about $400 for 30 pills in the US. If you do a search for Provigil here, you'll see how others feel about it. I have no idea what the other medi...

Re: POLL CPAP or APAP, Data or no Data
Since, at the discovery of your own OSA, you don't know all your options. I realized I wanted a data capable machine because of what I read here. I didn't understand that there were also smart machines that could adjust pressure as needed for you. After some reading here, I called the DME to see wha...

Re: Nocturnal dexterity
That's pretty interesting. At least you left evidence of what you did. Did you ever think you might have done other things that didn't leave such an obvious trail! Just a thought. It freaked me out enough when I first found out that I had severe OSA - since that is something that also happens when y...
