Re: New machine?
I would start thinking about a new machine just so you're prepared if something happens. I just recently bought a new machine to replace my 7 or 8 year old Intellipap. It has over 21000 hours on it so I figured it could fail any day. I have a old M series CPAP for a backup but I never liked that mac...

I was looking at it too, I think I might try and order one soon to see how it is. It looks like it might be comfortable.

Re: Poll: What's Your Bedtime?
I'm lucky in a way in that I only work 3 days a week, 7 pm to 7 am. I try and be in bed by 10 am on the days I work up up at 4 pm. On my days off I still seem to sleep more during the day than at night but it is always different. I'm still always tired though during the day time. Seems like I'm tire...

Seems reasonable if people wish to provide that information. If it can help somebody then I'm for doing it. Many people come here looking for answers and we each have different questions. If that can answer someones question and help with their therapy then lets do it.

Re: TO ALL WHO ARE THINKING OF GIVING UP
I think you are right, it's not easy and it takes some determination and willpower to make it work. I was sent home with a mask that for me really made it hard to sleep. Once I found a mask I could use I felt I was on the right path and would benefit from my therapy. I will say I have spent more mon...

Re: finaly relief, switch back from APAP to CPAP
I would say the same as above. When I started I was prescribed a pressure of 14 on CPAP. When I bought my APAP Iset my set my pressure to 12-19 and the pressure always went to 19 in the first hour and stayed there through the night. I never felt as rested either. I beginning to believe APAP's aren't...

Re: Help! Don't know whats wrong
It may well be sinus troubles. I would first make sure you are using the right size pillow for your mask. I would go up one size and see if that helps. I know on my Swift the pillows are very soft and can collapse making it hard to exhale or inhale. Going up one size solved that problem for me. Also...

Not sure, maybe CPAP machines are considered "weapons of mass destruction" or something over there. I've thought mine is at times.

Re: Humidify or not!
I think it really just depends on the person. I know for me I try to use it, usually in pass-over, but there have been times I was out of distilled water and did fine with out it. Where I live the air isn't usually dry so that may be part of it too.

I had my eye on that also, it looks like it would be comfortable. I'm due for a mask in December so I might give it a try then.

Re: Hospital stays and CPAP
I work in a hospital and when engineering looks at the machine it's just to check that it is not a fire hazard, they don't check setting or anything like that. It's not uncommon that patients bring their PAP's with them. Occasionally they are prescribed for patients even before their sleep study, no...

Re: What type of xPAP do you use?
I usually run in APAP but I do sometimes switch to CPAP or use my backup machine that is a CPAP.
