Re: Want to buy a Pur-Sleep pillow - hard to find!

The developer (inventor?) of the pillow reached out to me. He now sells directly from FitMePillow.com

Can't recommend it enough!

Want to buy a Pur-Sleep pillow - hard to find!

I've been very happy using a Pur-Sleep "CPAPfit" pillow. Now want to buy another, but they have disappeared from Amazon. They use a filling that is a mix of buckwheat hulls and shredded foam. Because other companies make sort-of-similar pillows filled with shredded foam only, are buckwheat hulls no ...

Re: How to run a ResMed AirMini on a USB power bank

I see now how lucky I was, a decade ago, to fly around the world with an Everest 2 blowing my nose all across the oceans.

Re: Oscar- do you back up your files?

15 years now and I have recorded it all and have never once looked at anything more than a month ago. Waste of disk space, but in cyberworld, storage is too cheap to worry about!

Re: Nasal Mask vs Face Mask (Newbie)

I've long used nasal pillows and suffered mouth leaks. In my experience, it doesn't help much to clench (or cinch) my jaw. Air just flows past my teeth, flaps my lips, and emerges.
I live with it. Others apparently tape their lips together!

Re: Nasal Mask vs Face Mask (Newbie)

Getting a mask fit that is comfortable and effective is very difficult and takes a lot of experimentation. I am so used to my mask, it is so comfortable, that I sometimes reach up to touch my face in bed to make sure I remembered to put it on.

Re: What Triggered Your Need for CPAP?

I fell asleep at inappropriate times, in barber chairs, dentists chairs! I snored, and my wife noticed that I often stopped breathing while asleep. Nasty morning headaches. But I resisted getting tested because sleeping with a CPAP? I pictured a WWII gas mask. no way. Then at my busy medical office ...

Re: What kind of Apniac needs a biPap?

Thanks. I wonder why Bi-Levels are thought to be better ventilators for COVID patients? Maybe a weakened patient needs very large difference between a high inhalation pressure and a very low exhalation relief pressure, perhaps even approaching zero?

What kind of Apniac needs a biPap?

I am a happy CPAP veteran (15 years on the hose). My current machine is an autosetting ResMed. I'm happy with it but have a question about Bi-Level machines:
who needs one? As in, what set of symptoms/problems would point an OSA sufferer to a BiPap rather than a CPAP as a therapeutic?

Recommend a good DME in California?

I recently moved from the East Coast to LA. I buy CPAP supplies very infrequently, so it's been a long time since my last need. I have Blue Cross coverage, and among the listed DMEs are Apria, Quest, Sarah Medical Equip, King Medical Supply of California Inc. Any good or bad experiences? Anyone in S...

Re: A/C vs. D/C

They ALL run on AC, which they convert to DC. For most electronics. the converter is the "soap on a rope". For others it is internal, making the machine heavier. Decades ago I had a Toshiba laptop that had the power supply built in and I liked having no "brick". But the computer was heavier, and war...

Re: Best pillow for side sleepers

I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NERG2O4/ I am always sleeping on one side or the other, never on my back or face. My CPAP interface is "nasal pillows". I love my pillow, and usually travel with it, despite its weight and bulk. It is very "tunable", in that you can stuff the bag fuller or ...

My sleep-related headaches seemed to be oxygen-deprivation. Maybe monitor O2 levels?
