My new auto sense 10 autoset was set at a fixed 10.6 pressure. I don't have the clinicians manual. I have no problems with this setting, but would like the option to change to an auto range, perhaps 8 - 12.
Is this advisable? How do I do it?

Transcend EZEX
I recently replaced my Swift FX with a Respironics DreamWear. I am preparing for a trip and plan on taking the Transcend, but find that the exhale noise with the DreamWear is intolerable. Must I go back to the Swift,( unfortunately I no longer have my old mask,) or is there some way for the DreamWea...

Re: problems falling asleep after waking up
I have had this problem for several years, using different masks and taking various supplements. But, I am 75 yrs old and my old fart friends, some without apnea, have the same problem. I don't know your ages, but sleeping patterns can be one of the many age related problems.

Re: Sleepyhead or Other Software System One 60 Series?
Pugsy, you previously assisted in helping me download Encore Pro 2 for use with my old remstar "tank". Unfortunately I forgot my password have now been locked out. However, I just traded it in for the new Remstar Pro CFLEX+, which, during the setup testing period, raised the pressure from 8.5 to 10....

Re: holdover effect?
To answer your questions: 1. My wife is a light sleeper. She was instrumental in getting me to an MD, although it did take a year of nagging. 2. My weight has been constant. 3. My AHI was 60 before CPAP and is now 1.6. 4. I haven't used the humidifier during the summer and the hotel and motel rooms ...

holdover effect?
When packing for a recent 2 week trip I neglected to include my mask. My wife, who serves as a substitute for software, let me know that my snoring and gasping did not return until 10 days into the trip. I do believe there is a holdover effect based upon long term CPAP use, which in my case lasted a...

Re: How old were you when you got diagnosed?
I was diagnosed by my wife at 65, but it took her over 5 years to convince me to do something about it. So I guess my answer is age 70.

Re: Medicare & a new machine
DME is Lincare. The machine to be replaced is a Remstar Pro, old style. I have an M series I purchased out of pocket for travel.

Medicare & a new machine
My CPAP, paid for by Medicare,is closing in on it's 5 year birthday. I understand Medicare will pay for a new machine every 5 years, but I was told the old one must be inoperable before my DME will supply me with a new one. Does anyone have experience on obtaining a new unit after 5 years?

Ready for New Mask
Thanks to the generosity of Medicare I am now entitled to a new mask. We old folks can get one every 6 months. My original was the new Breeze, which I never was able to properly adjust; then the Swift, which I liked until it began to irritate the area below my nose, and now the Comfort Lite 2, which...

I have had the same problem for the past six months. Only my awakening is usually after 3 hours. After a trip to the toilet, which may be part of the problem, I put the mask back on, but can't fall asleep again. I take the mask off after an hour or so and then fall asleep on my stomach, in a positio...

Lincare keeps billing me for a deductible. Medicare covers most, but I have a secondary insurer that actually paid the deductible. When I called, they said that they have a delay in posting and to ignore the bill. However overbilling seems to be a regular practice. This is not the first time I had t...

My pressure recently went up, from a usual 130/75 to over 160/ but the lower number remained below 80. I never related it to the CPAP. I take two pills, Diovan and Toprol, but the solution was a simple, and cheap, water pill. My problem was too many meals out, with Chinese food topping the list. I a...
