Re: Secrets to hose management?
I have my pipe coming up from the base of the bed under the quilt. It's not ideal because when I need to turn over I wake up and conciously move the hose as I roll over from one side to the other then go straight back to sleep. I only do this about 3 times a night so it's ok. Having the pipe under t...

Re: A newbie to forum with some questions
I see that you have the Quattro mask. I am told by Resmed that the cushion is supposed to act like a hovercraft. When you put it on it should meet the face and have reasonable contact but still be "floating" then as the air pressure comes on the outer layer of the cushion, i.e. the floppy bit that t...

Re: Diverting direction of exhalation air
I find the same with my Resmed Liberty, I sleep on my sides but have now had to stay on my right side facing away from the current wife as the blast chills her to the bone and she hates the cold at any time and especially so in bed. The problem I have is that tomorrow I get a long awaited tattoo on ...

Re: Nothings changed, why suddenly tired?
I'm glad this thread was on here. I am also feeling tired again. I've been on CPAP for about 2 months now. At first I was like a new born kitten full of energy but lately I'm getting very tired by mid evening. I've had this awful cold that's been going round the UK for about 2 weeks now and although...

SLEEP APNEA, CPAP AND NIGHT SHIFTS
I am on CPAP for my sleep apnea and have started to work nights again on a trial basis. My shift pattern is 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, 2 night shifts and 4 days off. I have been told by the sleep clinic there's no reason I cannot work nights but that my sleep during the day will not be of...

Re: CPAP on a motorcycle
I'm glad someone mentioned this. I tour Europe every year with friends on motorbikes and this year I will have to take the CPAP machine with me for the first time and I was wondering how it'd survive on the back of my velocopede for a week and about 2000mls of reasonably spirited riding. I have the ...

Re: Flatulence
My emissions have significantly increased on cpap also. For everyone else's sake it's a good thing I live alone. It sounds like this condition is a somewhat normal side effect of the therapy. Am I correct that it isn't anything to worry about, and is mostly only a concern for those around you? Geor...

Flatulence
Not the nicest of subjects but I've nticed since using CPAP that I have huge flatulent bursts during the night. I am a mouth breather and suspect some air is being forced into my stomach and onwards to escape in large clouds!!!
Is this something others have noticed?

Re: Waking Up Tired
I find that if I wake naturally I'm fine all day but if I'm woken by the alarm clock I feel jaded all day. Is that likely to be the case for you?

Re: Sleep Apnea a married person ailment
I was a champion snorer and somewhat proud of it as guests would comment on the VOLUME. My wife complained about it and resorted to wearing earplugs but then my shaking the bed as I struggled to breath kept her awake and it was like listening to a ticking clock for her (Once noticed impossible to ig...

Re: liberty hybrid mask issues
I have the liberty as well and really like the fact it's not on the bridge of my nose. At first the medium pads were ok but they started to leak with use after a week or so. I changed to the small ones and they were great for about 3 weeks but they are now refusing to seal. Will go with the advice f...

My Simple Solution
I think I've finally sussed it!! I have a resmed cpap with attached humidifier and the usual 6ft hose to a Resmed Hybrid mask. I tried having the unit on the bedside cabinet but found rainout built up in the u bend between the unit and the bed as the hos hung down and the weight of the hose pulled s...

Re: New mask....what to get?
1) Hybrid. Does this thing seal better than the liberty?Any other suggestions? Thanks all! EDIT: I should also say that I have or have tried a Swift II, Opus 360, and Ultra Mirage II. I am using the Resmed Liberty and have found it to be great. I can't get on with full face masks as they refuse to ...
