Re: Hypops only??????
Thank-you you guys. Your feedback helps. I don't know what I would do without this forum. No one can really know what someone else feels unless you have been there

Hypops only??????
Anyone out there with only hypopneas? My index is 16 so I qualified for a machine. I think having only hypops has lead for a long time to me having denial about needing the machine

Rainout Hugh???
Hi everyone!! Here is the scoop. I now use a nasal mask/seal my mouth with dentigrip gel (works great) and have insulated my hose. I have a 10 ft hose or maybe 12, (I forgot). Part is covered by the respironics hose wrap and the remainder is covered with fleece that I fashioned myself. I started get...

Re: nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
One a surgical mask is porous, (unless you have it sealed in a plastic bag), and they cover the nose and mouth at the same time. See Note on breathing with the bag attached. My suggestion would use the FF mask or seal your mouth, those are the only two real options that work 100%. Jim Hi Jim. After...

Re: nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
Hello-do you think that a surgical mask would work in liue of poli-dent to prevent air loss from my mouth? I am trying my nasal mask again but breathe through my mouth. I wonder what you mean buy surgical mask? To my knowledge those are made from paper? Try painters tape 1st. You are absolutely rig...

Re: nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
Maybe if you leave it in the plastic bag it would work, but if you cover your mouth and nose at the same time, you die. Jim Disclamer: Don't put plastic film over your airways! But my mouth and nose are both covered with the FF mask and if I used the nasal mask with a surgical mask over my mouth, I...

Re: nasal mask/mouth breather/surgical mask
The equipment you listed in your profile, says you have a Quattro FF mask. Why would you use a nasal pillow mask instead? Especially if you mouth breath? Just curious.... Hello-my mask was a regular nasal mask versus nasal pillows and was so much comfortable than the FF mask until I started mouth b...

mirage quattro leaks with changing positions
Seems I get one issue resolved and another develops If I sleep on my side my mirage quattro is ok (tight straps on bottom and loose on top) but in the middle of the night I wake and am on my back. The thing is leaking (making the farting noises etc and I finally take it off because I can't get it ad...

Re: Cool Air
Thank-you everyone for your ideas. I was thinking the humidifiers can be "pre-warmed" (for a certain amount of time) before the machine is actually started. I know the older Respironics machines I use have that feature. You could buy some fleece and make a longer cover. I think I am going to buy som...

Cool Air
Good Morning. My latest issue is the cool air blowing into my mask when I first turn my machine on and am trying to fall asleep. I think warm air would be much more conducive to sleep. I have a resmed hose cover but it was for the 6 ft hose I had at the time and now I have a 10 foot hose. I know the...

Re: Now I understand!!
Thank-you "Rested Gal". I can't tell you how much this forum has helped me. THAT was a nightmare (no pun intended). Talk about a "systems" problem and the head doc has no idea. I made the mistake at the time of telling tech I would not implicate her(because she was sincere and felt like she was advo...

Now I understand!!
I am so not impressed with the RT. I called him this morning to ask if he would review my data because that will be the real picture of whether I have resolved all of my problems with leaks etc. He said "in a nutshell", if I don't think I am having any leaks then I probably am not and if I was they ...

Re: resmed auto set II data interpretation
Unfortunately, the humor is the result of just plain ole cynicism ingrained into us by less than truthful, incompetent, non-caring local DME suppliers and their RTs as well as our so-called sleep doctors. Being a "cash cow" forces you to adopt a good sense of humor or give up and get out. I hear ya...
