Re: Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Just to follow up: I spoke with the ADP Program Co-ordinator for respiratory devices and she said that this vendor is absolutely not allowed to charge a surplus for an 'upgraded machine'. I completely understand that it's "just another $200", but it's $200 that they literally should not be charging....

Re: DME appointment, need quick response.
Never be afraid of the DME: they work for you, not the other way around. Most are out there to milk as much money from you as possible. Think of your CPAP machine like a car: if you had the know-how to do regular maintenance and diagnostics on your car, would you worry about what your mechanic had t...

Re: Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Just a follow-up to my original post: I've spoken with a CSR and claims assessor with ADP and they both have told me that the $860 is the maximum a vendor can charge me for a machine. I've taken the issue right up to the program co-ordinator and I'm waiting for a call back. Called the vendor and out...

Re: Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Nope! My doc just wrote a new script, citing "inadequate hunidification". The vendor will have to submit that my machine is too expensive to repair on the new application for funding.
I'm just going straight cpap.. You might need a study to indeed qualify for APAP under the horrible requirements.

Re: Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Will definitely update when I get a response from the vendor. Being an ADP vendor myself, I do have some contacts that I could raise a you-know-what storm with. Like you say, it's all about whether I want to force this vendor to bend and abide by ADP policy.. Or whether I should just go elsewhere. I...

Re: forced to use CPAP machine
You can fight your company and win, but your doctor simply has to go to MTO with evidence of non-compliance and you'll lose your license. In essence, you'll have your job still.. which won't do you any good without a drivers license.

Re: ADP changes to CPAP in Ontario
Trying to get a replacement machine under the 'new' funding model.. and it's a bit silly. Have a vendor that's trying to tell me that there are "basic" and "upgrade" machines under the CPAP umbrella. If I want to go "basic" with what ADP offers, I can only select from crappy machines like the S9 Esc...

Re: Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Sorry I just realized you are not a newbie but have been at this since 2009. Weren't you made familiar with this the first time are around? How did you pay for your last machine? Yep: was very familiar with the process. I had accessed ADP for my first machine. My humidifier is now on the fritz, so ...

You might find this discussion useful http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=95962&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=Ontario Thanks for the link! Read through there first and it did have plenty to say about the new funding model. Mostly dealt with the 'packages' DMEs are pushing.. mine had a bronze/silver/...

Ontario users: +$200 for "upgraded machine" under ADP??
Just got back from a new DME who claims that I have to pay $200 more for an s9 elite or REMstar pro 60 series. Claimed that the basic ADP amount only applied to a REMstar SE or s9 escape. What the heck?? I feel like I'm totally getting scammed. Are they allowed to charge an upgrade fee for machines?...

Wow.. Didn't realize the Resmed embargo was in full force! Last time I bought gear, I think I had it shipped to a friend in the US to get it quicker.. So I was never exposed to the no-ship zone! I have relatives visiting FL right now .. Looks like its time to ship an order to them before they come h...

I just want a swift FX pillow. One. OR: Why cpap.com > DMEs
Good evening! Haven't posted for quite a while, but something happened today that just plain irked me. I never used to really pay attention to what my equipment was costing me. With an excellent private drug benefits plan (Canadian), that paid for 100% of my equipment, I simply bought gear when I ne...

Re: Swift fx
Love it. Love it, love it, love it. I've tried a wide variety of nasal pillows/prongs and settled into the fx like a second skin. The velcro at the back of the headgear is currently being held in place with some safety pins, but I'm extremely happy with the lightweight design and unobtrusive (and so...

Re: So now I LOVE my insurance company
It's nice when things surprisingly work out well! My private insurance company refused to pay for supplies even though I have a $10,000 "therapeutic equipment" pool to draw from. I appealed their decision and gave justification for everything I'd submitted .. and threw in an invoice for the resmed c...

They're yours, Nancy! Just drop me a line with your address and I'll pop them in the mail. I'll have to find a padded envelope so they don't get crushed, but they're as good as yours.NancyAZ wrote:Chris, I would love to have them if they are still available. Let me know if I am the winner!
