Why do i need a prescription?
Time for a new mask and head gear, while there are many sites selling masks it seems those in the USA either dont ship to Canada or require a prescription, why do i need a prescription for a nasal mask?

Great forum for cpap information Thanks for the info,but from a newbs perspective i think its time to put some different sections in the forum so people can readily access the particular info they are looking for concerning the various aspects of cpap usage. Also an off topic section would be handy ...

I usually go to bed around 9pm and usually wake around 3am,i dont try to go back to sleep,i get up and after playing around on half a dozen forums its 6am and time to get the kids up and off to school,around 9am i go back to bed for 3 hours ahh the joys of retirement eh.

Most of the links lead to taping the mouth shut while sleeping,aint gonna happen.
I'll talk to my sleep doctor today about getting a full face mask as he said he would change the mask for free if i didnt like the mask that he gave me with the machine.

Not sure how the humidifier would be a factor as i'm supposed to be breathing through my nose which would bypass the mouth area. Would a full face mask be a solution?

The Remstar M series machine works very well and the nasal mask is very comfortable unless you need to scratch your nose,Main problem so far is waking up halfway through the night with extreme dry mouth,whats the trick?

Night 2 with Remstar device not going so well,i wake to a flapping noise from the mask everytime i exhale ,not sure if its normal or why its happening i'm wondering if it might have something to do with humidity control, just a guess as the hoses seemed to have water in them,a visual check shows not...

Thanks hawthorne, well i now have something called a Remstar auto M series with A-Flex and although it was expensive ($2225) the insurance doesnt seem to have a problem paying for it. It also comes with the option to change the mask as often as i like for the first year (free),a card read and machin...
