Re: Whoppers I have been told from DME, techs, etc
My DME told me that I'd be able to run the S8 CPAP/humidifier on the (expensive) ResMed 12V adapter. After I had it all winter (no camping) and couldn't return it, he didn't believe me; I had to show him by taking a new unit off the shelf and connecting it to my truck. He then told me that the batte...

ResMed card reader, again....
I'm close to buying an S8 reader from an ebay seller in Israel, but I was wondering if it was legal. Has anyone else purchased this sort of thing from an overseas seller, and did you have trouble with importation or customs? I've searched several threads about the card reader, but haven't found the ...

Re: ResScan import?
What type of cables are you refering too? I just put my SD card into the card reader on my computer tower. No canles required I'm referring to the cable and reader used to load my S8's numbers onto my computer. I'd rather not buy one from ebay via the seller in Haifa, Israel, and I'm confident I ca...

ResScan import?
My mom will be taking a trip to Australia this spring, and I'm considering having her pick up several ResScan cables to bring back on her return. Anyone know how to do this the right way?

Re: ResMed S9 and external power/UPS supply
I've been reading on here about back up power for a year and still have not initiated anything because it's all so complicated. I wish Resmed would just work on this. Come on Resmed step up to the plate.....make it easy. (for dummies like me) Yeah-that'll be the day. Even my S8's humidifier won't w...

Re: New numbers
By the way, I'd like to make it clear that I don't depend on my DME. After I saw his ignorance about my machine's lack of usefulness on 12V, I've given up on him. I took my card in for "compliance" only.

Re: New numbers
Rattleman......I just want to remind you that with the Elite II, you can get your numbers daily without going to your DME. The Clinical Menu will give you that data on your screen. Hmmmm. Now that you mentin it, I remember scrolling through the menu while trying to eliminate the ramping and seeing ...

Re: New Machine and Grrr... FedEx
In the spirit of helping others, you can request that FedEx hold it at the terminal for pickup; this may not have helped you, but I've found that I can pick it up before the driver would ordinarily get to my residence. Might give you extra time for warmup. YMMV, though.
Glad you got your new machine.

Since I LOVE thunder and lightning storms, I try to get up and watch them. I'd say that being woken by one is a blessing.

Re: Camping CPAP, again.
Get a power inverter and use whichever you want. A small inverter will run a machine and you can use passover for the short while camping. For short trips, yes. ButI've spent thirty nights (so far) in a sleeping bag this year, with plenty of longish trips in the recent past and in years to come, Go...

Camping CPAP, again.
Went to my DME Friday to see about buying a CPAP/humidifier that will run on 12V power. ; He didn't believe that my ResMed S8's humidifier wouldn't work on 12V, so we took his new unit to my truck and he saw for himself. I was stunned by his lack of understanding of 12v DC vs. 115v AC; but it's a lo...
