Re: Activa mask pros and cons
I just got the Activa and must say the seal is WONDERFUL! On the downside, the mask IS long and my problem is with the part below the "bellows" which rests on my upper lips and drives me CRAZY. If it weren't for that, it would be the PERFECT mask but I may have to give it up since I am having a hard...

Re: Another Newbie Question Re MAsks
Thanks Echo. U asked my DME and they only carry the Resporonics and Resmed so I guess I will have to check online. I am a little worried about the sizing thing tho. How does one size the different brands> Thanks again.! Your DME can order ANY brand if they are willing. I would contact your insurer ...

Another Newbie Question Re MAsks
Hello to all and thanks for all the valuable information/posts. I have been on CPAP for appx. 18 months and have been using the Mirage Quattro FFM, XS with the Resmed M Series CPAP. I just replace my mask with the same make/model but am STILL having problems with leaks and swelling around and under ...

Re: Low Oxygen symptons
When my 02 levels dropped to 50 all I wanted to do was go to sleep. I had no energy, no motivation, and ended up in the hospital for 8 days on oxygen for 7. 86 for me is GOOD LOL!

Re: O2 Levels...How low is too low?
Just curious about 02 levels and what I should be aware of. At my initial sleep study (pre CPAP), my lowest 02 level was 59%, then after CPAP, went up to 92%. Obviously 92% is better but just how bad is 59%? And I don't have any software on my machine so unless I go for another sleep study, I have ...

Re: pushed up nose from pillows deep wrinkle on bridge of nose
Hi. Not sure about this since I am relatively new to this forum but I think MOST masks do the wrinkle thing. I use the Quattro and have the imprint around my nose and cheeks. I also recently gained "saddlebags" under my eyes. If you find one that fits and does not do this, please let me know!

Re: Newbie and needing help!
my DH was just placed on BIPAP (he has congestive heart failure, diabetes and many other problems) Hi Minolta and welcome to the board. The others are giving you great advice and suggestions for your own treatment, so I'll switch to something you said that made my ears perk, regarding your husband ...

Re: Newbie and needing help!
It is not unusual for those with untreated sleep apnea to sleep long hours as the body's desperate attempt to compensate for the poor quality of sleep. It's a good thing that you now can't sleep without the cpap - helps keep you on the straight and narrow. Hopefully you'll get a mask that works wel...

Re: Newbie and needing help!
Minolta, the mask really IS the key to this therapy, so don't give up on that yet. While some may not find the 'perfect mask', most of us do end up finding one or two masks that work great on most nights.. just takes some hunting around. You should first check with your DME because they may allow y...
