Re: Feeling breathless?
Sorry about the equiqment icons. I thought everyone saw it was the norm here but have not changed it to text. As for the pressure, I have not idea how the icon got there, but it's set at 8 and ramp at 15 minutes. I may well be leaking from the mask, as I find I'm still adjusting the straps to figure...

Feeling breathless?
I've been on the cpap for a couple of months now. Recently, I started feeling sort of breathless sometimes when I wake up. I'm wondering if maybe the pressure is too high (set at for me and wonder if it should have bothered me in the beginning?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: New User - Teeth Grinding
That's interesting. I have been wearing a night guard for many years because of grinding. Ever since I started using the cpap, I notice some mornings that my jaw is not aligned so that one of my bottom front tooth is pressed against the guard, which makes it a bit sore. Not sure if maybe the headgea...

Re: Is it normal to not feel the air pressure after a while?
It also only took me a few days to not notice the pressure when I first started (end of November). I am sleeping better (and longer!) at 5 hours straight without waking most nights. As for how I'm feeling, a bit better (but I also recently had my throid meds adjusted, too) but I'm still tired when I...

Re: puffy eyes
I have had the same problem on and off. I think the mask is on too tight. But if I loosen it, I get leaks. Perhaps a new mask is in order (been lax in looking into that). I was thinking of the comfort gel one so I won't get the forehead mark and at the side(s) of my nose. I'm using a small and the t...

Re: Sleeping on the plane?
I have been reading your posts with interest.
All I can think of at this point is if I can't figure out what to do will be to go ahead and nap (I always have had trouble sleeping on a plane, anyway) and if I snore too loudly, they'll gladly put me somewhere so I could plug in my CPAP!

Re: One night skipping cpap = dead (Reggie White)
Gosh, that is so scary! We lost power this past weekend as the fuse box went out. I had trouble sleeping the first night and a bit better the second. I could have tried using the cpap the first night, but the power kept going out and was so afraid I'd suffocate (wouldn't happen, would it?????) with ...

Re: Sleeping on the plane?
What has been helpful for me when sleeping upright is using a c-shaped neck pillow, but I use it backwards. I rest my chin on it and it keeps my head from flopping forward (not a good position for apnea) and prevents my mouth from falling open. May not suffice for a long flight, but you could try i...

Re: Sleeping on the plane?
Thanks again on your reponses. My trip will be for a convention, so it will be mostly business with a bit of pleasure thrown in. I'm sure I won't and am not the only that's asked this question, so I will continue to watch for more posts from others. I think things will change more or less when the t...

Re: Sleeping on the plane?
Thank you for your responses. Since I'm not totally sure yet which airlines I'm going on, I suppose when it gets close to the time to purchase tickets, I'd definetely have to research it. Unfortunately, I do snore (severely according to the sleep study) but when we went to Bankok, my dear hubby said...
