Need a copy of Encore Pro Analyzer
I am reloading my computer and find that my copy of Encore Pro Analyzer is missing. I find the Analyzer to be very useful for analyzing data from my Respironics M Series Bipap. I have tried the usual website, http://james.istop.com/EncoreProAnalyzer/, but it doesn't seem to be working. Can someone o...

Re: New to group, problem with bipap
There was a recall of some of these humidifiers within the last year. I received my machine October 2008. It was on the recall list and was replaced by Respironics no questions asked. If you are working with a DME, you should contact them for the list of affected machines.

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I received my machine in October 2008. I got the card reader and software in January 2009. I download my data and take a good look at it once a week unless there is a reason to look at it more often. I used my prescribed settings for the first 6 months and then I started making adjustments to optimi...

Re: Mask is rolling inward and collapsing
I use the Soyala Nasal mask and like it. The one I am using now is about 6 months old and does not have the problems you report. You can purchase a replacement cushion for this mask from CPAP.com.

Re: Advice on staying asleep.
As with many people, before starting CPAP therapy I would wake up 2,3,4 times a night. Once I started with CPAP it quickly dropped to once a night. After several months of CPAP therapy I finally started sleeping through the night. Now, after a year on CPAP, I seldom wake up during the night at all. ...

Re: It's SleepWeaver--not DreamWeaver
Katie, I don't use the SleepWeaver mask but my suggestion is to adjust the straps while you are lying down. That's true of any mask. Everything shifts when you lie down, so it's best to make your adjustments in that position.

elg5cats.... I'm with OldLincoln on this one. I've been looking at your avatar for months and I DO NOT SEE the cat. I've heard you describe it before and I DO NOT SEE it. I think I see something like a very young monkey, maybe, but not a cat. I have a cat. I know what a cat looks like. And that's no...

Re: Power outage and CPAP
Had a big storm go through two nights ago. For the first time since I started CPAP therapy nearly a year ago the power went out (2 AM) and it stayed out for four hours. I woke up because the machine wasn't running and the air wasn't blowing. No big deal, no gasping or anything. Then I couldn't (or w...

Re: is BiPAP just for relief? or other therapeutic value?
I use a bi-level machine at 17/23 cm H2O. If exhaling against high pressure is so difficult, then how can I manage at 17? True, it is better than 23, but it is still high. I have no problem exhaling against 17 cm H2O. The changes in pressure don't bother me either. Another example of how people reac...

Re: On Off Switch?
I agree with you 100%. They ought to have a simple on/off switch. How much could it cost? And you are right, these machines sit there all day drawing a little electricity for no reason. I unplug mine at the machine every morning. Annoying.

Re: Titrated at 17cm
I use a Bi-PAP at 17/22 cm H2O. I use the Soyala Nasal mask and I am satisfied with it. It was used during my titration and was issued to me by the DME. My leak rate is not perfect, but I think any mask will leak somewhat at these pressures. I also use a chinstrap. I don't think I am mouth breathing...

An AHI of 174? Wow, that's the highest I've heard. A freak is a little strong, however an call to the Smithsonian might be appropriate.

Re: What favorite activity did you resume post-CPAP?
As mundane as it seems, the activity I enoy most is driving without feeling that I am going to kill myself, my family or an innocent victim in another car. There have been many improvements, but the driving situation pre-CPAP was dangerous.

Re: Anyone still use the chinup strips??
I started CPAP therapy in early November. I tried using the chinup strips during December and January at the suggestion of a friend who also uses a CPAP machine. Since I have a beard, I used the ones that loosen when wet. They seemed to help keep the lips together and prevented venting that way. My ...

Re: I have a couple questions for you guys that track data
I think we are giving this guy a bit of a hard time. Assume for a minute that he is a conscientious DME. He probably deals with several kinds of CPAP patients. 1. There is the patient that picks up the equipment, goes home and has no problems from day 1. 2. There is the patient that picks up the equ...
