Re: Poll: Are you happy with your current supplier? VOTE Please
My answer is a qualified yes. I did not understand about complex apnea, and would have had no idea what kind of machine to order. The RT at the New Orleans Apria did, and recommended my BiPAP Auto SV, suggesting that the doctor write the prescription specifically for that machine. However, it was t...

Re: Resmed Mirage liberty full face mask
Thanks, Dragon. I'll go dig in the bag of goodies that came with it, and look for that small mouth cushion.

Re: Resmed Mirage liberty full face mask
I have a Liberty that was just supplied by my new DME, and the nasal pillows seal just fine. My problem is leaks around the mouth. I've tried tighter and looser, and still I squeak. It's so bad, I've gone to the ComfortGel full-face. At least I can sleep with that one. Any suggestions on getting a g...

Re: JUST HOW OVERWEIGHT ARE YOU?
Well, if my weight and height were proportional, I'd be around 10'-11' tall! I actually had a handle on things (diagnosed Type II diabetic, high BP, high cholesterol, all the good stuff!), and was starting to lose the weight, when all kinds of heck broke loose at work (I work for AIG). My stress lev...

Re: Problem getting ComfortGel FF to seal
I gave up on the ComfortGel. All the blamed thing seems to do is LEAK! Went back to the Quattro, and I'm doing much better.

Heck with drill bits, stick it down with a little JBWeld. Guaranteed you'll NEVER move it again!

Hey, we don't have a drool icon! Ettilvry, DO NOT give up. I've been almost as frustrated as you are, the...

I'm a sax symbol. I play tenor (Yamaha Allegro), and baritone (Pan-American) sax. Haven't really gotten together with anyone to play since the hurricane, but, I hope, one day...

Re: Questions about cleaning my mask
I'm using Pampers' sensitive skin baby wipes. I do find the mask seals better whenI do a wipe-down before I put it on.

I have a Remstar in my closet that has almost 8000 hours on it, but has a board that is going bad. Makes a good backup, though.

Re: Nasal Irritation
Are you using distilled water? I've had similar problems when I have to use tap water. Must be something in the water I'm allergic to.
Also, when was the last time you replaced your hose and really cleaned your mask? There could be some yuk growing in the hose or mask.

Try adjusting the knob for the forehead adjustment. I'm at 19 now (was 25),and it probably took me a couple weeks to adjust things to stop the leaks. What I did (YMMV): Snug the lower straps upper straps slight tension adjust the angle knob to remove some of the bridge of the nose pressure It seems ...

Kenv--you might also try something like Mucinex to thin your secretions. It might help the mucus flow out.

Re: Still sleeping so much/unhelpful docs
Lovey, your problem demonstrates a major problem in our healthcare system. Doctors prejudge their patients, and don't help or listen to them. Many times, the doctor is in some way prejudiced against the full figured, and lets that prejudice overcome his professional duties. Last time I had a similar...
