waking up congested
I've been waking up congested. It's to the point that I thought I was getting a cold, but as the day progresses, I'm fine.
Too much humidity? Not enough?
Any other ideas?
TIA

Re: Shift LT pillow question
Thanks, I'll try those things. I'm using the pillow I got when I started at the end of October. I used to get a leak rate of 0.0 consistently. I had a cold (my leak rate increased greatly). Now I can't get it under 0.6 and I hear different leak noises. Not as wooshing, but very fine air leaks so I w...

Shift LT pillow question
How often do you replace your Shift LT pillows?
My leak rate has been a little higher than usual and I'm wondering if it's because the pillow is wearing out.
Thanks

Re: New Mask Question/comment
I have some whistling with my LT pillow as the pressure is ramping up. After I'm at my prescribed pressure I'm able to adjust the pillow to make the whistling stop. Usually I pull the pillow away from my nose (just a little bit and let it reseat itself. That usually takes care of the noise for me.

Re: Newbie mouth breathing questions
I bought a Papcap http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/produ ... category=6
For me it works great. It reminds my mouth to stay shut. I wouldn't rule out a chinstrap. You say you bought one. Try it before you move on to taping and gluing and stapling.
Keep with it...

Re: Spoke Too Soon
I don't know about your machine, but with mine I can get limited data off the LCD screen. I found the way into my menu through the boards. Each morning I can check my leak rate, my AI, HI and AHI. It's not as good as the software, but it's something. For me a chinstrap has worked wonders. Keep tweak...

Re: How much xpap per night needed until you feel better?
Way more than 2 hours. It's easy to figure out, if you sleep for 8 hours a night, and you have Sleep Apnea, If your treatment is done prefectly correct, and you sleep with if for two hours, it means that night you only tried to kill yourself for six hours. That's the real math, that's the same as pl...

Re: first night
If you're waking up with cotton mouth, you are mouth breathing and leaking more than you should.

Re: Swift LT for Her
I use a Swift LT for her too. It's my first mask so I don't have anything to compare to. When I have the headgear properly adjusted it's wonderful. If it gets too tight - yeouch! My nose feels like it's being jammed into my brain. I have a little bit of leaking sometimes when I lay on my side. I jus...

I've been wondering about this. I want to buy software, but haven't been able to find anything that will be compatible. I guess I'm looking at US sites.
Where did you purchase your software from?

Re: New To Cpap's...Need Advice
Get a papcap. That will stop the mouth breathing. At least for me it did. If it doesn't you can find the threads about mouth taping or poligrip strips or switch to a FFMask. Link to papcap - http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/products.asp?category=6 Added bonus to the cap is that it keeps my hair fro...

Re: sick all the time
I've had a little bit of a runny nose since I've started CPAP. Nothing terribly bothersome, just runnier than it used to be. It's actually less bothersome than the headgear marks on my face every morning.

Re: New and Need Help
I use the same mask. I've been on cpap for about a month. The first week or so I woke up nightly really hot. I adjusted my humidifier down and that has seemed to help a lot. Well that and taking a quilt off the bed. My DME set me up with a 30 minute ramp. I've decreased it to 10 minutes and that's b...
