Re: Too much CO2????
It may depend on the pressure you're set at. I know my masks say that some rebreathing may occur on lower pressure settings. But I'm at 5cm with 1cm of EPR, and I don't personally notice a problem.

Re: Any Canadians with Desjardins group health insurance?
It will be different in Quebec. In Ontario, the insurance pays a lot less because they assume ADP (an Ontario program) is paying the bulk. You'll get a MUCH higher percentage (if not the whole thing) in another province.

Re: Nostrils getting larger?
It is possible to stretch your nostrils. Just look at those kids who stretch their earlobes or foreign tribes that use stone disks to stretch their lips. Skin stretches, and if you keep at it, it doesn't always go back. I think you'll be fine as long as you choose pillows that fit easily -- nothing ...

Re: CPAP Full masks and Facial Hair
I've got a goatee, though I keep it fairly short. It's never really caused any leaks. I'm using a ComfortGel Nasal though, not a full face. Works like a charm.

I believe the S8 Elite IIs were built before the H4i was even a sparkle in the designer's eye -- so there's really no way for H4i to exist in its menu options.

Re: Doctors Allergic to Email?
Sending email means creating a paper trail. In case of lawsuits, very few doctors want paper trails.

Re: understanding data on my elite 2
Also, the Elite II CPAP gives no pressure data for most of us. That bit only exists in the menu because they use the same software in one of their APAP machines, which does give pressure data. Just ignore the no pressure data.

Re: Detailed data for S8 Elite II and Resscan 3.7
The Elite II is capable of detailed data, though not quite as much as you'd get with Reslink. Reslink would let you see every breath you took and your snoring and so forth. Anyway, on the download screen in Resscan, you'll see the data section. It'll say something like "summary data only." Click the...

Re: customs for cpap in canda
Medical supplies don't get charged for customs. Just make sure your seller has properly labeled your package as medical equipment and you should be fine. CPAP equipment I've had shipped from the US has had this on it: "medical equipment GST exempt code 57."

Re: Call For Feedback: Delete Spam Button + New CPAPtalkers
None of the other forums I belong to allows access to a Spam delete function by members. Perhaps this forum would mind it's manners better if there was no access to community deletion, and that function was kept solely by the moderators. I agree with this wholeheartedly! Giving everyone access to d...

Re: Intro from newbie in Canada
I'm surprised you got charged for services on top of your machine, mask and so forth. When I was in getting my machine from Medigas, I was told the two-hour meeting I had where we went through masks and the workings of the machine and all that were including in the $1040 and were required by Ontario...

On Big Bang Theory, Leonard once said, "Lets just eat so I can get to bed. With any luck, tonight will be the night my sleep apnea kills me."

Re: No Pressure Data in S8 Elite II
I don't see it either. I was told by my supplier that it's because the menu is designed for the CPAP and APAP. An APAP person working in APAP mode would see data there. Since we CPAPers are on a constant pressure, it doesn't bother telling us anything.

I have to agree -- that is very confusingly written. I'd be mad too.
