One last thing.
With Apria, you should have the doc prescribe Full Face or Nasal Mask or pillows. Apria won't give you a full face mask without it being explicitly prescribed.
(That being said, I own 3 full face masks anyway)

Re: Cycling, CPAP and Sleep.
I gotta join in. http://fstln.com/miramar/comfort1.jpg This is what is known as a comfort bike. It has very high handlebars so it is easy to look around, the pedals are a bit forward, and the seat is large and cushy. A real geezer's bike. It is hard to stand up in the pedals though. No off roading o...

I met my current lady love on Craig's List. It does work sometimes but you have to be careful and have a sense of humor. Many times you can read between the lines and tell whether someone would be worth a reply. I have never posted myself, just answered a very humorous ad with an equally funny reply...

Re: switching to a full face mask
I had the same nose sore spot issue with the Quattro mask at first. Every night I simply put two thicknesses of surgical tape on the bridge of my nose where it got sore. Works like a charm. A bandaid would probably work just as well. I use both the Quattro and Ultra Mirage FFM. I have had very few l...

With regards to snow... OT
It is great to feel good. Especially if you live in San Diego. Love that CPAP. Even my cube mate at work has come around. The one who hated the machine. He has finally gotten a good combination of mask and machine. The other morning he remarked "I feel great" So, while we are feeling great, we get o...

Excellent inspiring post.
Memo to Tony:
Get tire pump. Pump up nearly flat tires on comfort bike. Ride around Lake Miramar and Lake Murray.
Feel good.
Thanks Carbonman,
Tony

Moneygal. Sure nice that you finally got to the bottom of things. I'll bet you feel much better now.
Thanks Pam.
It looks like the SNAP test is only available through a doctor's office. I will look into it.

Thanks all,
Moneygal, how did you come to be diagnosed? What was it that tipped you and your doctor that you had a problem?

Re: OSA? Yes? No? Maybe?
you could offer the ENT to try to titrate her, try to find a cheaper home test, or buy a pulse oximeter. I'm not sure what they'd agree to, because frankly, she sounds like she really does need a PSG at some point... Does anyone know of home tests? I know the VA had something at one time, but I am ...

Data capable but as I noted, I have not gotten the card reader and software. Tonight I will do so. I should have it anyway. I probably need to see what is happening with me also.

Re: OSA? Yes? No? Maybe?
Thanks Georgio, I watched the ResMed movie. I guess it is going to be hard to ascertain exactly what is happening without instrumentation. I understand the differences in sleep disturbances better now. (Apnea is clearly the most severe, none of them are good) And, as Sharkbait pointed out, some folk...

OSA? Yes? No? Maybe?
Hi all, I hope a few of you can offer some advice and insight. I have a lady friend (past 55 is it proper to say girl friend?) who I have been seeing regularly for a while. She had mentioned that she didn't sleep well, often woke up in the middle of the night, and had to read of do something on the ...

Re: Frustrated - Lost
RE: Anti Doctor. I went to 2 different ENTs. They both did an excellent job of diagnosing my potential for an apnea condition. Went to the sleep study and confirmed what they suspected. On my followup visits (to get a prescription for my CPAP), neither one of them knew the difference between CPAP an...

Re: That first night of sleep is eluding me now
Perhaps you can try some "white noise" in your room.
I run a floor fan on high and it drowns out everything. Of course, it is like sleeping on a DC-6 crossing the Pacific, but the noise is constant and just becomes part of the background.
Works for me.

Re: Questions about cleaning my mask
Does anybody know why we cannot use antibacterial soap? The other day I couldn't find any liquid hand soap that wasn't antibacterial. So I bought it and am using it. I wash my mask and hose thoroughly in a sink full of hot soapy water, then a full rinse with warm water. Am I overdoing it? My incompe...
