Swift Lt mask-Anyone interested
I talked to a friend who is new to cpap and was experiencing problems like most of us here have. Anyway, dropped by his place to show him some different mask styles, introduce him to cpaptalk, and to install encore, etc... He has a swift LT that he can not use (mouth breather) He asked me if I wante...

Re: ot: anyone have utorrent problems
You have to set up your portforwarding, depending on your modem/router setup. I believe the website is portforward.com that lets you select which modem you have and tell you how to set it up. Any more questions, I'll try to help.

Re: mask trade liberty for other ffm
I have a Quattro that was used for about 3 nights that I would be willing to exchange. Any idea what size you would need. You should be able to check on cpap.com and use their online sizing tool. Let me know, would love to try the hybrid.

Leak line Concern
Would you be concerned with leak rate or leak lines in encore even if your AHI is very good? I have finally, for the past 4 nights, been getting good AHI numbers, but my leak lines are pretty bad. Wasn't sure if I should be concerned with them? Thanks

Side sleeping vs. sleeping on back
I know I've seen a few topics around concerning the difference sleep position can have. How much is it though? I have slept primarily on my back for a couple of years now, ever since a broken collar bone. Since starting my cpap therapy, almost 5 months now, I have not been able to get a decent AHI. ...

Snores
Isn't CPAP treatment supposed to eliminate snores? I have been experimenting with different pressures, trying to figure out what works best, but the snores is never a constant. I can use the same pressure for a week, and some nights my snores is bad, others it is good. Any input on this? Thanks

Re: AHI vs. Snore
Ok. Dropped pressure to 8.5cm. I know it was only one night, but AHI is lower than it was on pressure of 9.5 or 10, but snore was up around 26. So, higher pressure gives me higher AHI and less snore, lower pressure gives me better AHI, but snore out of control. Pressure of 9 gave me decent AHI and s...

Re: AHI vs. Snore
Wulf, I put my pressure on 10cm last night and my AHI increased to 14. I'll post dailies tonight. I guess I need to go down now, maybe to 8.5 and try?

Re: AHI vs. Snore
Thanks for the reply ozjj and snoredog. Promptly after getting my CPAP, I went to an ENT and had my deviated septum fixed. I was told that I am definitely predisposed to apnea because I have a large uvula and smaller opening. I have opted to not do the UPPP surgery unless it becomes a last choice sc...

Re: AHI vs. Snore
I was running it in APAP mode on a fixed pressure as suggested by RestedGal to get a look at the flow limitations. I was titrated at 6cm, with a nasal mask, and I am a severe mouth brouther. The DME originally set my machine up from 6cm to 13cm. I tried for over a week, and never got a complete nigh...

Re: AHI vs. Snore
After everyones advice from this board, I got a copy of my PSG from the doctor. I only had 2 centrals. Before seeing the report, I was just trying to figure out why I could not get my AHI down. The doc says I have Rera's, and was changing my pressure to much instead of trying it for a bit. I was ori...

Re: AHI vs. Snore
I have only been at the higher pressure for two nights now. Just that both nights were consistent at the AHI of 12 range where pressure of 9 gave me fluctuation of an AHI between 4-8. I stayed at 9cm for 1 full week, and figured that was long enough to see I needed to change it a little. ???

AHI vs. Snore
Does it make sense when a small change in pressure (from 9 to 9.5) would cause your AHI to go from around 6 to 11.5-12? My vibratory snore was lower with the higher pressure, but the AHI is higher. The mask leak rate is very similiar between the two. Thanks in advance.

Re: Central Sleep Apneas (THought anyway)
Snore. When I started this post, I was asking about centrals. I didn't really know what they were, but had heard my doctor mention them. My sleep study said that I suffered from Apneas, Hypopneas, and centrals. I went back to my doc after starting this thread and asked him about it, he told me I suf...
