Poll: Can CPAP be a torture for some?

We have already heard from people who think CPAP is a blessing. Now a lot of people don't use it meticulously (a study from CA suggested only 17% patients in the study were using XPAP as prescribed). Do you dislike your CPAP machine? If so, why? You can vote for all that apply. If you have any misgi...

Re: Torture or blessing? Why do you like CPAP poll.

Didn't fill in the poll, I will wait until the election. One thing, there is no onw thing to check, it's most of the areas on the poll. Making the poll it's self useless. #1 When you finally make up your mind you are going to use XPAP right, it Works, that's why I use it. Jim Good enough, your vote...

Re: central apnea

It took me a LONG time to get into REM and I spent the majority of my time in the lab in stage 2. Everyone spends most of the time in Stage 2. REM latency= No known definite clinical correlates. It's likely sec to sleep apnea. So these are not what you need to worry about. I also don't understand w...

Torture or blessing? Why do you like CPAP poll.

PAP therapy has been called medieval torture. Wondering what’s your BIGGEST motivation to use your (C/Bi/A)PAP regularly (if you do use it regularly). For most people, many may be true. In fact, is there any of the above that DOES NOT affect at all your decision to regularly use CPAP? I UNDERSTAND I...

Re: Possible that I would need a different pressure every night?

My AI is the only thing I listed there, AHI was higher, but Resmeds read the HI portion a bit high. I know that my apnea is severe in REM (33.5 events, desat to 76%) so for me, an AI of 1.8 probably means I had way more apnea events than 1.8 an hour because mine all practically come in REM. I am ju...

Re: Possible that I would need a different pressure every night?

Sun night @ 11 I had an AI of 0.2 and felt GREAT!! Also dreamt a ton! Mon night @ 11 I had an AI of 1.8 and woke with a headache. Dreamt very little. From seeing how much of a difference there was each night, and then seeing I would have the occasional night @14 below 5 AHI, I really think I should...

SAG, I say this with absolutely no bias. You're one extremely smart and inordinately capable diagnostician and sleep lab manager IMHO. Is that true SAG (self-appointed guardian)? You have your sleep lab? And I thought I was only returning your compliment (without meaning it at that time) when I acc...
