Re: opinion wanted-full face: Mirage Quattro or Ultra Mirage?
I've tried both masks, and for me UMFF fits better to my face. The Quattro seemed to need constant adjustment. The cushion designs are definitely different between the two, so what works for me might not for you. Are you able to try each at your DME? Also, I have had good results with Resprironics' ...

Hi, everybody...
All the names, all the places. Everyday meeting people makes me think, "Do they CPAP too?"

Re: Newbie with some new questions
I have not experienced the nasal blockage you describe. Although I have not used a nasal mask, I have several FFM. I find them to be comfortable and stable on my face, even though I am not known to be a mouth-breather.

Re: Choosing a masks using sizing guide/selection?
I have had good success using the manufacturer's sizing templates. If you print one out to use, be sure to check the scale is true. Good luck.

Re: Feel like cr*&#p using Mirage Quattro ffm
Also like Bigburd, I recommend using a using a thin bandage (Band-Aid) across your nose bridge. It helps to disperse the load the cushion places at that area. Also, suggest to adjust the forehead bridge just before leaks (@ nose) occur. Best to do this lying down with the machine running. My setting...

Re: Any Full Face Masks Better for Nose Bridge?
You may want to consider the Respironics ComfortFull 2. It kind of has a deeper 'notch' for the bridge of the nose and thick cushions. I find it very comfortable...I barely know I'm wearing it when I wake in the morning. I also have a Quattro and UMFF. Both are great masks, but I have to manage the ...

Re: switching to a full face mask
The Respironics FF masks have the ball & socket attachment for the lower headgear straps, which is not cool. Its a minor drawback. The ResMed masks have a very logical design which loads from the side. Regarding comfort and fit, the Comfort Full is a little better because of the thick cushions. I al...

For the same reasons DS says, I did not consider anything else. I find a FF to be comfortable, really don't understand
the nasal pillow thing.
Which FF are you using?

An episode of CSI:NY involved a suspect with insomnia. The woman was shown in bed
with a mask and hose. The episode was titled 'Night Mother.'
The first time I saw it, I thought "what is she doing???" Now being somewhat knowledgeable

Re: Newbie Mask Fit Problems
First, it would help if you fill out your online profile, including the types of masks and machines you are using. Then it would help others to give advice. A few general tips... 1. Wash your face and wipe the mask cushions before starting. You need the mask cushions to have that 'tacky' feel to mak...

Re: Leaky mask driving me nuts
Its not mentioned often, but when you get the mask and headgear pretty much there, go back and double-check that the
top and bottom straps are of equal length. I've found that after all the pulling, tugging, etc. a final adjustment to make the
straps to make equal does the trick.

Re: Nothings changed, why suddenly tired?
Well Elader, I hope you feel better soon. Good luck with the pup. I enjoyed the discussion and theory with the pCO2. However, I don't buy it either. For example consider a typical FFM mask with a (leak) flow rate of 30 lpm @ 8 cmH2O. Also, consider the dead space of the FFM, about 200 cc or 0.2 l. (...

Welcome, too! The daytime breathing difficulty you mention seems odd. I did not experience that, nor do I recall other newbies mentioning that. Anyway, I would encourage you to continue to use your system...you will get more familiar and comfortable with it in time. How do you like the Quattro mask?

Re: First night
Regarding wipes...I would recommend plain, unscented 'baby wipes' from your local market. They're inexpensive, and are perfect for daily cleaning; no residual odor, no harmful chemical to mask or face, and no lint. They will effectively remove the body oils that coat the mask cushions after wearing....
