Re: Question about Leakage Compensation
I understand that your machine (and mine) adjust pressure to compensate for any mask leakage to keep the pressure at the level necessary to deliver proper therapy. I also understand that the "leak" reported by your machine is probably overstated as many of the reported numbers are on a ResMed machin...

Re: First night on Oral mask. Anyone have any tips or tricks?
Blake, I've used the Fisher & Paykel Oracle 452 oral mask which is the only oral mask of which I am aware so I assume that is the mask you used. I didn't have the same results as you described using my ResMed machine and humidifier. I also found it was most comfortable not using the strap but still ...

Re: malfunctioning CPAP?
Finally got to see my assigned therapist today, appointment was to download data for my upcomming doctors visit. as i suspected there was no data to download. The RT attributed it to a software glitch, she had only seen it once before. they are returning my machine to the manufacture and issued me ...

Bad poll - I have been perfectly well since October 1 and was not given that option as my vote. Sorry to hear others have not been as well.Muse-Inc wrote:Seems many of us are sick right now or have been in the past few weeks (since Oct 1, 2009). Curious as to what we've got.

Re: Poll: Number of Sleep Hrs to Feel Good?
I selected 7 hours but usually get something around 7.3 to 7.8. I feel good most days even if I do not get more than 6 hours. Interestingly, the more active I am during the day the better I feel the next day but having a desk job makes it difficult to be active during the work week so I need to use ...

Re: Soap Cleaners - masks
Just like to know if any of you use laundry detergent to clean the mask parts? I found ALL Free & Clear which has no dyes or perfumes. I tried baby shampoo but the inclosed and concentrated smell I could not handle (I love it on babies). Where does anyone get mild soap without all of the additives ...

Re: Waking up soaked in sweat?
Does anyone else wake up soaked in bed? Sheets are wet, literally need to change bedrooms and clothing becuase its so fouled up. During my first night getting tested for apnea, i woke up to the technician in my room telling me a few of my sensors were not working, he saw that I was sweating and he ...

Den, you're from Wyoming. Anything's possible. However, 4 years with the same mask and seal? Good lord man, are you MUMMIFIED? Don't you produce ANY BODY OILS? Criminy, are you goin' for the RECORD? Someone call the folks at Guiness.... LOL, B. I'm willing to call Guiness if it is to get a free pin...

Re: your mask has failed when...
Dang Ken, no NAII on that list? LOL, B. I have tried "prongs" and can't stand them - it is like somebody else has their fingers up my nose. I am also a little concerned if the NAII can be used with my machine. The instructions say do not use masks that use smaller air hoses as it may prevent the au...

Re: your mask has failed when...
hi everyone, new to cpap and I am wondering when to call it quits on a mask and try another model. I have tried just about everything and can not get more than 6 hours a night (but usually 3-4 hours per night) with my current Respironics Full Life. But at $150 a crack, I don't want to give up prema...

Re: New ResMed S8EII = Two Questions
1. Just got my new machine. Have been using a Fisher-Paykel H234 for 3 years w/o problems. Pressure on FP machine is 8.0 The DME set the pressure on the new ResMed to 8.0 to match the FP. When I use the ResMed, my lungs feel like they are operating between 50% and 70% capacity. IOW at the end of ex...

Re: Resmed Autoset Spirit & stand alone humidifiers
Howdy...good to see you all, I've been out of commission for a while... I have a question -- can you use a stand alone humidifier with an Autoset Spirit? It's about six years old and it has a place that a humidifier chamber could go in, but I haven't been able to find a chamber. The manual makes it...

Re: 4th Night S8 Autoset II
No, not tried EPR off. Min pressure was 12. 95th Percentile Pressure was 14.6. (Median 12.2, Max 17.0) BTW What is the significance of this 95th pressure thing? 95% pressure is the maximum pressure reached 95% of the time the machine is in use. If you have software and look at the pressure graphs y...

Re: Made it though my first week - Wish for a Results FAQ
Oops, yes, I have my EPR set to 3. And, one other thing, only wake up once a night in a slight-panic feeling, as if I'm suffocating. I take off the mask, pee, put it back on and go back to sleep. Not a big deal. I bet there is a mistake on that Sp02 reading - at 58% you would be dead for certain - ...
