Re: Compliance rates - All the same?
Apria called the other week to check up on how I was doing. Obviously my insurance requires them to do it. It was "using the machine?" Yup. "every night?" Yup. "OK thanks".

I carry the hose hanger in both checked and carry on. Never an issue. expect to take out the cpap as you go through xray.

Seems pretty shameless. If you bothered to read anything here you would see we know all about pulse oximeters.

wow, on cpap my desats are tiny. You got some big ones there, even on cpap. But you only have a few (luckily) - amazing how differently our bodies behave.

I can't imagine not using the humidifier in dry mountain air. here at seal level in steamy Maryland, i havent used the humidifier for about a month. i do wake up dry if I mouth breath due to stuffy nose, but the humidifier was like sleeping in the rain forest. It's just too humid here. Sorry carbonm...

Re: Can't sleep without cpap machine :-))))
I cant sleep without it. The noise of the house keeps me awake without the whoosh whoosh. Also I am now constantly aware of suffocating to death when I try to nap without it.

Re: A Night Without Sleep
Nothing against the original poster, and the sentiments were reasonable, but that was an advertisement. He is not a registered member of the forum and posted a nice story, ending in an ad. Kind of tacky to not bother to notice that this site is maintained by a very generous online store who NEVER EV...

At least make sure your will is up to date.
For me, without the mask, i am not actually sleeping with an AHI of 74. What about you?

Re: Help! - I am trying to quit.
sounds wacky to me. Buy a cheap recording pulse oximeter and take a baseline for a couple of days on cpap and then try the device without cpap.
Do any of us know how an apap would behave with someone who is not suffering from apnea?

Re: Pressure differences between back and side sleeping
After 8 months on cpap i suddenly started sleeping on my tummy again. I am NOT a back sleeper. Can't even breathe on my back. Side was an adjustment for me. Now suddenly I sleep like a log. Very humorous for me to close my eyes and wake up 8 hours later. I don't seem to block the exhaust ports eithe...

Re: I just found out today that I have Sleep Apnea
Thank you for all the information. I can see that I need to really educate myself. The wrist band monitor was supplied by Vital Air and I wore for one night. My doctor told me that for 56.6 % of the time I was not receiving enough oxygen. He said he had never dealt with any other patient with such ...

Re: Falling out of love with my CPAP
Full face masks are not torture. I love my mask. I am always stuffy when I lay down and the full face mask makes it a non issue. I wake in the middle of the night now and don't even realize I am wearing it. The lack of a pressure differential between airway and mouth makes the pressure seem much low...
