Re: Hi Everyone...Rested Gal, Pugsy...
I am likely from that period, too. I am in and out.... I lost my beloved Harper Dachs New Years Eve of 21-22, my husband Passed in July of 2022, and two weeks later, my Beaglette joined her Harry an her Harper. I have Harper's great-nephew, Master Qi and a cousin, Mistress Lily to keep me company. "...

Re: If CPAP won't work for you at all...
Sounds like you might want to check to see if you would qualify for the Inspire procedure.....be aware that not everyone qualifies for it and it comes with some rather ugly baggage as well. Now that catches my attention. I've been seeing a bunch of ads for the device, but noted that they mention it...

Re: If CPAP won't work for you at all...
PhotoWolf, Nope, ASV is a whole different kettle of fish. CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure. You get the same pressure breathing as breathing out. I know lots of people who do great with these. Myself, I couldn't handle it. APAP is Automatic Positive Airway Pressure and relies on t...

Re: Holiday/Vacation Usage Importance & Cleaning......
I've had my machine(s) since 2009. I've gone without it exactly once. 2011. There was a hurricane. We had not power. I ended up sleeping upight in a chair for one utterly miserable week. My Dad got power back before we did. W moved over to his house, dogs, Bipap and all. I hooked up the machine and ...

Re: Replacement ASV
Do a search for SERVE-HF. This was a Resmed sponsored study of patients with severe congestive heart failure, who were randomised to either conventional treatment or ASV. The study was reported in 2016.The ASV patients fared worse in terms of cardiac outcomes. However there has been a lot of critic...

Re: Cult Of Lanky... Make APAP Go Away
I guess I got my priesthood! Send tithes to 'c/o van down by the river'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-QnPVEpmmo Obviously he surfs here and searches on terms 'Lanky' 'Lefty' 'Jason'. Can't say I blame him, this stuff is his life... dare I say he 'lives and breathes' CPAP? I guess it's time for...

Re: Replacement ASV
That model isn't the ASV model. Cpap.com quit selling any ASV machines way back when it was decided by a iffy study that the mortality rate for ASV users was higher than normal and the big scare went out. With both the AirCurve 10 and AirCurve 11 models there is clearly stated "ASV" wording in the ...

Re: Replacement ASV
It's a good thing I wasn't around when that little blind puppy needed a home. I would have taken it. Brittani (my new Frenchie) is a little over 2 and it appears she may have had puppies once. Her little teats look like nursing teats but I got zero history about her. All I was told is "breeder surr...

This is Master Qi, having a blast at a Barn Hunt. Someone commented on these photos on FB that "I want to have as much fun at a Barn Hunt as Qi does!" Qi got his Open title and is has his first qualifying run for his senior title. https://imgur.com/a/MpKUaU3 This is Mistress Lily. She was in season ...

Pugsy, Would this be the S10 you are talking about? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-aircurve-11-vauto-bilevel-machine-with-humidair Naturally I check our hosts first! Wow, Respironics no longer sells in the US? I guess that replacement business really splatted their US business. That is prob...

Replacement ASV
Heyla, folks! Been a long time since I've posted here, and my life has changed in that time. At New Years of 2021-2022, I lost my heart dog, my beloved Harper Dachshund to an evil blood cancer, hemangiosarcoma. We had no clue he was ill. He was fine in the morning and dead at night. My husband, who ...

Re: Alternative to chin strap for mouth breathing?
Since I deal with a certain amount of claustrophobia, neither a cervical collar nor a chin strap worked for me. Besides, too dang HOT here in New Orleans. So I took a 4" diameter cylinder of closed-cell foam about six inches long and drilled a hole down the center of the cylinder. I stuck a somewhat...

Re: Qi to Everything
My sister used to have the cutest little black miniature dachshund. He was adorable and had the sweetest way about him. They missed him a lot when he died at a good old age. I have had Dachshunds for 52 years. All except my heart, my Harper, lived their full lives. Harper was stolen from me by hema...
