Re: about to toss this mask...
Thanks Craig, I think you are right. I tried my nasal pillow mask last night and it was like before...my eyes are all puffy, face is swollen, throat is sore...I don't feel very well right now. I need to seek some other type of mask.

Re: about to toss this mask...
Thank you for your response...the nasal mask is the respironic comfort fusion
And with regard to the headgear...I think mine is too big from top to bottom...it feels like it bunches on the back of my head

Re: about to toss this mask...
it isn't the headgear that is making the marks, it is the mask itself...the two sides that rest beside my nose...it is making marks/blemishes from the inside of each eye almost down to the nostrils, where the mask rests on the face.

about to toss this mask...
I have been using the nasal mask for the past week now and the marks it is making on my face are just not going away...I use astringent and keep the mask clean. These marks aren't very attractive, to say the least! Other than the unsightly marks on my face, the nasal mask seems to be doing the trick...

Gerald, ditto on IndyJudy's question...and how do you attach it to keep it from sliding from one end to the other?

OH, AND
I am getting the blemishes on the sides of my nose again from where the comfort fusion is resting on my face. I have been trying to use astringent on my face morning and night but that is really drying my face out. Is there anything else that will prevent this?

Re: swollen face
I am very new to using the cpap - just started on Monday. I was given the nasal pillows and that has been one of my complaints. My face and eyes have been swollen and my eyes have been very sore.

I don't know a whole lot about this treatment...please tell me WHY you get headaches and sore eyes until you get 'adjusted'?
Why didn't I have sore eyes and a headache after my titration?

Re: Could the wrong mask cause this?
I slept without the cpap last night and I feel much better. It makes me hesitate to put it on again, even with a different mask. Unfortunately, I am not very tolerant of medications so I try to steer clear of them, and there is no way in heck that I will be able to tolerate feeling as bad as I felt ...

Re: Could the wrong mask cause this?
My equipment information should be listed at the bottom of my posts. but just in case it isn't, I have the REMstar Plus M-series machine and humidifier and the ResMed Swift LT nasal pillows mask. I find the mask to be comfortable. I don't think it is leaking. Unfortunately, my machine doesn't report...

Could the wrong mask cause this?
I started cpap three nights ago and I am feeling really terrible. I am more tired than before, I have a constant headache and fogginess, my eyes are puffy and sore. I called the doctor and said it is to the point where I do not want to put this thing on again another night. I am dumbfounded as to wh...

If I was asked this after my titration sleep study, I would have shouted 'you betcha' but after having my machine for three nights and feeling like crap the way I do right now, I wonder...
