Here is a contrary comment

Have you tried a cover (Snuggle Cover, eg) for your hose? I had a lot of rainout with my heated humidifier set on the next to highest setting and the room temperature in the winter getting down often to 62F and sometimes 60F. The Snuggle Cover for about $15 eliminated 99% of the rainout. I avoided t...

NightHawkeye mentions the 50% cpap dropout rate which is a number I have heard before. Did anyone take notice of the dropout rate mentioned in "Streaming CPAP and Sleep Apnea News (older news) 05/15/06 Sleep Apnea Ruled a Factor in Reggie White's Death"? Quoting the article: "Although considered one...

[quote="dllfo"] My wife will probably get her sleep apnea test this next week and based on her comments, a machine after that. Does ANYONE out there have two CPAPs in the same family? Just curious. I think she sees the incredible turnaround in my ability to go right to sleep and is realizing, like m...

Here's happening "the rest of the night": -You stop breathing. -Your blood oxygen levels drop. -Without enough oxygen, all of your organs work at suboptimal level. -Your heart races trying to pump more oxygen. -Your blood pressure rises. -Your body produces excess "flight or fight" hormones. -These ...

Re: vapor

[quote="tomjax"] So if the tank were full of bacteria, none would be in the rainout or condensate. The pathogens- bacteria and virus cannot hitch a ride on this. This is why there is no danger of getting bacteria in the hose- even if you use water from the toilet or the creek. The only reason to use...

I agree with yardbird on the risks of this practice. On the benefits side, I doubt that any of the salt particles can travel to the nostrils in the tiny droplets of water. So you are only getting humidified air just as if you were using distilled water. Maybe a physicist among our forum members can ...

Re: drowning

I was suprised to wake up about an hour after using a ComfortLite2 for the first time to find my nose full of water, water running down my face, and the top of my head wet from water leaking out at the rotating elbox. I didn't have this problem with the Swift (which fit very badly). I'm using the s...
