Re: struggling with sleep-therapy and depression

There is always hope, so approach your situation one day at a time... one challenge at a time. I know depression... had a serious issue with it over 10 years ago. I took an active role in my recovery and have been fine since. Just recently diagnosed with apnea and also taking an active role with thi...

Re: Power outage

Is there a deep-cycle system that I can keep plugged into the wall that I can use as a fail-over so my cpap won't stop in the middle of the night when we have an outage that only lasts seconds? Sometimes my cpap just doesn't start back up and I don't get therapy for hours. I'd also like to be able ...

Re: Power outage

Is the output from the Black & Decker 400 modified sine wave or pure sine wave?

Re: Power outage

So I'm in the market for a deep-cycle battery that I can use for travel and as an UPS so that I don't have to spend another half-hour not realizing my cpap just turned off - one that doesn't beep at me if the power goes off but just silently takes over. Being a former computer guy I am somewhat fam...

There is some good information in that manual... particularly for us newbies!

Thank you for sharing!

Re: 4 nigghts of using my CPAP and my eye hurts?

I see you are using the same mask as myself... check to ensure you are not getting leaks up around your eyes. You may need to lightly run your fingers around the area to feel the air rushing out or perhaps you can feel it in your eyes when they are open. The Quattro has that forehead adjustment wher...

Re: Resmed S8 AutoSet II

The Clinicians Manual is just that, a CLINICIAN manual. It wasn't meant for the end user, only for the pros. When purchased from an online DME supplier the Clinician's Manual is included as well as the Users Manual. Local DME suppliers do NOT provide it w/the equipment. They might keep the first on...

Re: Could the wrong mask cause this?

I slept without the cpap last night and I feel much better. The only way to get treatment and accustomed to the equipment is to wear it every night. A night on, followed by a night off... isn't going to do any good. Consistency is important. I have noticed when I have a pressure change that I am so...

Re: My Cpap Results

Try to resist the urge to fiddle with the settings too often to achieve results... believe me, I'm still struggling with that one myself.

Record some data for a week and then you have something better to work with... rather than making adjustments based on one or two nights worth of results.

Whoops--didn't mean that "comfort food" reference literally!
It is all good.

Comfort food is a gift I still give to myself, only now in moderation.

A little too much of that comfort food you spoke about has created another little issue for me to deal with... but that is another story.

Very much agreed with your other comments though. I will only add that attitude is everything.

Re: Resmed S8 AutoSet II

Thanks folks... I was thinking that perhaps there was a separate Clinical Manual that explained the machine and results in a little more details. I know how to get into the Clinical menu... was just looking for a little more detailed information on the machine and its workings is all. Does this mach...

Re: Smells During Sleep May Shape Dreams

I used to get my best sleep & dreams when I would be at my cottage... which was located about 500 miles south of James Bay in northern Quebec. 10 mile ride by boat to get there after driving in, closest other cottage was 2 miles away, would get so dark some nights there was no difference with eyes o...

That is certainly in harmony with my feelings about it as well. Hopefully one can obtain a mask from that vendor that fits.

Re: Introduction... and my ongoing saga

Achieved the best results ever since starting on the machine last evening.

AHI: 6.0
AI: 0.1
HI: 5.9

Pressure settings still the same, but I engaged the "Settling" for 15 minutes where previously I had not be using it.
