Re: Good DME we found...
The nightmare with cpap . com continues - I updated my first post. Chunky Frog, While I agree one rep (or even two) can really skew how a company represents themselves, this is not the case for cpap . com. I have spoke to at least 7 reps over several months and the same awful service is consistent. ...

Re: Good DME we found...
Unfortunately our experience with cpap . com turned into a nightmare. I updated the original post and can no longer recommend them.

Good DME we found...
Hi, I wanted to post our experiences with DMEs that were good since we have had so many bad experiences (as have others). We bought a machine though secondwindcpap . com and that worked great. We bought a mask thru cpap . com and unfortunately that worked very poorly. Both companies gave us paperwor...

Re: New Dreamstation and Wisp mask and AHIs jumped significantly
OK, a big part of the issue is solved.
DH used an old mask, not his new wisp mask, with the dreamstation and got a low AHI. So next step checking why that mask is not working.

Re: REM dreams - good or not?
From what I read REM sleep is good, we would go crazy if we didn't get any at all. However, if there is issues like untreated sleep apnea it can change the quality of the dreams. With not enough oxygen, our body goes into flight or fight state and often the dreams reflect that. DH dreamed of armies ...

Re: New Dreamstation and Wisp mask and AHIs jumped significantly
Sorry, attachments now there. This is my first time doing attachments though I read the thread on it, so anything else needed just let me know. Doing one for last night - I noticed more reports including a flow report. More charts.png Also, I noticed last night that DH was laying on his side and the...

Re: Help! I am about to give up
I agree. A range works much better than a set number. There are a lot of tips to get used to it - aromatherapy put where the machine draws in air - e.g. lavender or something to help you relax, can make a big difference in the beginning. Wear it when you get drowsy watching tv or reading can help. G...

New Dreamstation and Wisp mask and AHIs jumped significantly
DH got a new apap. He stayed with the Dreamstation as he has had the Phillips Respironics machines since he was diagnosed. Last one was the System One Remstar. He did change masks also to a wisp mask. He has used many over the years (about 10 years now), using a nasal with the pillow over his nose a...

Re: Insurance Questions
We have found that good DMEs are very hard to find (we are in AZ and our insurance agrees they are very bad in our state). However, even national companies like Edgepark have told us false statements to get more money from us than the insurance would pay. The bad DMEs tell us things like your insura...

Re: Hypopnea vs Apnea
xxyzx - that sound like using BMI to see if someone is overweight. It has Nothing to do with how much fat someone carries (very fit muscular male will show as obese in BMI table even though their fat % can way under the normal healthy level). And same with someone that looks small but has a very hig...

Re: Replacement machine on insurance
Our insurance thru our employer has always been 3 years. I have been told medicare is 5 years. HOWEVER... your DME may tell you different things so check with your insurance directly. We had a DME tell us we HAD to get a sleep study because we had moved states. Same DME took the CPAP to a back room ...

Re: How can I sell my cpap masks
Question - our experience has been for every mask we bought that the company will take it back and return all money if the user doesn't like it (doesn't fit, problems, just plain old doesn't like how it feels). Most DMEs tell you that - there is a 30 day return period. Not good DMEs claim there is n...

Re: What are good O2 Concentrators
I wanted to make a correction. I can't change this in the original post as I was a guest, but I misread the dates when seeing when this thread started. We had our solo2 for 3 years, bought it used (I don't know how old but it was lightly used and I think not more than a year or three at most). We go...

Re: Who else is using cpap/vpap and also O2?
Jim, sorry to hear about that. Dratted stuff that happens to us when we get older - don't you wish we could just stay young physically forever? lol. My husband has great stats when he is awake sitting up - 97 at last Drs visit, never below 95. It is only when he lies down and starts to really relax ...
