Re: APAP not mixing well with GERD

I haven't been able to use my APAP for a few days. When I use it, I start getting shortness of breath and increased discomfort in my chest. My GERD was really bad Monday night and I ended up going to the ER early next morning. In the end, all they gave me was some sucralfate, pepcid, and anxiety me...

Re: CPAP Machine Warranty Service?

I received a prescription for a new auto-pap machine today. My DME provider has always been helpful and accommodating. However, today he said all he had were pre-owned units and when he does order new machines he no longer orders them from the internet because he can't get warranty repairs. So, he ...

I Just Received My Replacement Sandman Auto

I just received my replacement Sandman Auto today. They even sent a new case with humidifier. I drilled a hole in the back of a small drawer large enough for the tube to go through and checked to see if a tug of the hose would overturn the machine (no water in humidifier yet). It works! It won't ti...

Re: About to buy cpap with data, which one would you pick?

You were in bed and what happened to the machine? Did you sleepwalk? Nobody, I was asleep when I turned in bed the first time. I must have got my arm caught in the hose and caused the machine to fall off the night table. After that night, I begain leaving the machine on the carpet by my bed. My bed...

Re: About to buy cpap with data, which one would you pick?

What happened? Did you sleepwalk and knock it over? I've been afraid of doing that because I've been known to sleepwalk and do other weird things in my sleep. So far so good, but I've been wanting to get some sort of locking drawer or something to put the machine in. Nobody, I tried posting twice a...

Re: What Sleep aid?..Non-respiratory depressant

Is your sleep issue partly due to having a stuffed-up nose? I have trouble with this whenever I lay down. I do use a saline solution & sometimes cleanse with a Netti-Pot, but during the night it stuffs back up! I don't like using Afrin very often either because it can be habit forming. Does anyone ...

Re: About to buy cpap with data, which one would you pick?

And I really like my Sandman Auto and its software. As soon as you turn it off, you can see that session's data on the LCD: duration in hours and minutes, AHI, whether or not it considers leak to be ok or not and average pressure. You scan scroll back through several previous sessions, too. The sof...

Re: USA Today Article on OSA

an article that ran in yesterday's online version of USA Today was good in some ways for OSA awareness, but bad in other respects. This is what I wrote about it: Sleep Apnea and Obesity have become synonymous in the public's awareness, so much so that when the term Sleep Apnea is mentioned, the ter...

Re: CPAP Destruction and Disastrous Doc office visit.

I do however have a lingering scar of despising to the point of rage a cruel act done if the name of "fun". Now that is something I will definitely have to get help for. I know this excuses nothing, but its a little insight as to my attitude. I wouldn't want anyone to have that experience if I coul...

Re: Sandman dies after 3 weeks of use -- typical?

I bought a brand new Sandman Auto HC from cpap.com, and it died after a few weeks of use. Now they want me to send it back for "repair." However, I was wondering if the Sandman has a history of problems and I should just get another brand? Thanks for your feedback. Favedave, Myself and another lady...

Re: Cardiologist Consult Today

My cardiologist is letting me decide if and when I have surgery to put a new Aortic Valve in. The reason he gave is because I have to many variables for him to say whether or not to have surgery. I have Pulmonary Sarcoidosis, Sleep Apnea and Type II Diabetes. I am now weighing the benefits of this ...

Re: CPAP Destruction and Disastrous Doc office visit.

I am wondering if he is a Vietnam vet with PTSD. This still does not give him the right to treat people the way he is. As a Vietnam vet still being treated for PTSD (and I'm doing very well thank you), I don't find the actions to be justified in any way. And I was kind of insulted by the remark unt...

If you don't believe me, fine. I can live with that. Funny thing about sleep. We take it so for granted when its okay and restful, or when your machine is working. But finally reach the edge of your rope and lose your patience with an idiot who doesn't have the first clue about what you're going th...

Re: Reggie White -free educational DVD on OSA

I just ordered a copy of the DVD to have put in the waiting room of the medical clinic where my family doctor is. I hope others order their free copy to give to a friend or to be played in a medical clinic waiting room. Anne[/color] Where did you order the DVD? I looked all over the site and viewed...
