Re: Freaking Out!
I feel you. I'm 22 and was diagnosed two years ago. I'd been sent to shrinks since freshman year of high school for depression and was given SSRIs and Provigil for years. It wasn't until I crashed my car that someone sent me to a sleep lab. I left Uni after 3 years of work and half a years worth of ...

Re: I finally got it - I've just been staring at it.
This machine turned everything around for me. I went from getting 1 hour max on my old m-series to 6 hrs a night. to access daily pressure, leak rate, AHI, AI, HI: Press bottom arrow and right button for 3 seconds --> you'll see Clinical Menu Welcome Press Menu --> Results --> Efficiency Data in Set...

Re: PUFFY EYES SINCE STARTING CPAP
I dont know about the hybrid, but I found with the liberty that it would lift off my face at pressures over 12. I also get the puffy eyes with the UMFF, even though I have the top straps quite loose. But then I also sleep on my side/stomach so it might be the pressure from the pillow against the mas...

Re: Carry on luggage - CPAP as third bag?
I do 4 transatlantic flights a year and I've never been hassled. I always carry with me a letter from my doctor explaining that I need it to live, and I've recently got a medical ID tag off cpap.com https://www.cpap.com/productpage/CPAP-Medical-Equipment-Tag.html which has TSA laws regarding cpap on...

It is also true that a full face mask like the one being used has a lot larger intentional leak rate than any nasal mask and would use more water. What do you mean by intentional leak rate? re: birdshell: I think you're presuming we have a thermostat that keeps the house at a certain set temp range...

In my flat, we refer to it as The Dreadful Thing of Doom.BlueMax wrote:In the end, I stuck some stickers on it and called it my "friend"
As in:
"How was the Dreadful Thing of Doom last night?"
"Oh, you know, dreadful. And full of doom."
To each his own :p

How much sleep before you felt better?
Hello all Slowly I've been really improving and I'm now getting about 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 hours of sleep a night regularly with AHI under 2 and leak rate under .12 lps. I definitely see a difference in the way my body fights sickness, but I still feel really sluggish during the day and my attention span.....

Re: H3i - Am I setting it too high?
My mask wasnt taken off while I was awake - just watched some TV with it on and waited to get sleepy again - and I use a FF, so mouth leaking isn't an issue. Generally my leak rate is very very low. As for environment, I don't think there is anything out of the ordinary. We keep the flat a couple de...

Re: Humidifier erratic?
I just had the same problem. I only have mine turned up halfway, but the other night I woke up in the middle of the night and the water tank was empty. Also wear a FF, with minimal leaks. Pls send me a line if you figure out what's wrong.

H3i - Am I setting it too high?
I usually have my humidifier on 3 or 3.5 so my throat doesn't get dry and sore. I haven't been sleeping on my machine more than 3 hours at a time yet (still tweaking) so so far I've had enough water in the tank to last. Last night though I slept 3 hours, was awake 2, and slept for another 1. When I ...

Re: Mask Wipes?
I have oily skin so need to clean the mask everyday or I can't get a decent seal. Bring on the chemicals. It's just difficult getting the mask wipes in the UK. I originally bought them in the states, but now I'm running low so I'm trying to find an alternative.
