Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
dme finally picked up the cpap machine. they wanted me to sign a paper saying that i was returning the machine against doctor's advice, which of course is not true. i crossed out all references to disobeying doctor's orders and left a general release of liability for them accepting return of the ma...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
that's a huge problem, i was using the machine regularly but often could not manage more than 1-3 hours a night and minimum for compliance with my insurer is 4 hours a night/daily. i was close but missed the required number of days at 4 or more hours by a few days. i'm happier and less stressed havi...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
so, the dme has still not come to pick up its machine. they have missed 3 pick up appts in the last 2 weeks. that's 9 hours of waiting time for me. i should start billing them for my wasted time for the missed 3 hour pick up windows they've scheduled. and before you say anything sleepycarol, we alre...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
so last night, i managed 3.5 hours and i think slept well during that time. starting coughing badly due to dust and dry air after that and will fiddle with the room humidifier today and see if i can get the room more comfortable. i set the range for 9-12. i did do a 20 minute ramp up from 4cm. i hav...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
the dme is not willing to lower the price for the old machine and they failed to pick it up last week. it's sitting near the door waiting for them to show up. Don't wait too long for them to pick it up. Experience on this board is that most DMEs are not very organized and many are downright unethic...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
As I said the thoughts I expressed were my own. I am just a skeptic that a note from a doctor stating that there was a medical reason for the noncompliance wouldn't have taken care of the issue. If insurance refused to accept legit medical reasons from a doctor - then that would have put a differen...

Splinky said: i missed being compliant by a couple of days due to another medical problem. i'm not complaining about he insurer denying coverage because the rules are the rules , but i am saddened that they would overcharge like that for a used machine. they would not consider charging less for the...

Re: dme takes its s9 machine back
Start with 9, go up 3 cm to 12, and see how you do. Try it for several nights to get an idea of trends--you shouldn't make daily adjustments because it's hard to tell what factors may be affecting your nightly AHI. Be sure to get the software so you can track your progress and do any necessary prob...

dme takes its s9 machine back
so, my dme says that my insurer has denied the claim after 3 months and they want their machine back. the dme has provided poor service so i don't feel too awful about this and was really looking forward to the end of the contract and them just turning the machine over to me. when they asked for the...
