Well, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that info was told to! I have been in contact with the DME company and voiced my concerns. Unfortunately I wasn't talk to a RT at the time. Gotta wait for their call...

Re: Question about BiPAP settings
Unfortunately my sleep study results do not indicate any apnea or snores at any pressure. It's just a summary report. My big question though, is my CPAP setting of 14 different than the BiPAP setting of 19 and 15? I told me Dr. that the whole reason for me looking into BiPAP was because I had diffic...

Re: Question about BiPAP settings
Thanks for the help. I'll dive a little closer into the sleep study. I know that the second one was BiPAP all night, so maybe there is something there...

Re: Question about BiPAP settings
I was titrated at 18 and 13. The study recommended my pressure to be set at 19 and 15 (my error on previous post). I felt terrible after the test. Bad headache and exhausted!

Question about BiPAP settings
Well, after another sleep test, my Dr. says that BiPAP may be better for me as I am having difficulty with CPAP. My current CPAP setting is 14. The setting my Dr. wants for BiPAP is 19 and 13. Mr. Dr. says that the measurements are totally different than the CPAP ones. Is this true? I find it diffic...

Still can only last about an hour and a half..
Well, I've been really trying the CPAP, but after about an hour, I wake up almost choking on the pressure (set at 14). My Dr. says I need another sleep test to see what pressure I'll need for a BIPAP. Is there anything else I should ask for while I'm at the sleep test or my Dr.? I'm trying not to ge...

Re: New to Apnea, CPAP and the forum.
Everyone, thanks for your input and advice. Last night I fell asleep and was actually dreaming until I coughed and blew out the seal! I couldn't get it back no matter what I tried. Ugggghhh. At least it was on for 2 hours before it came off. There is so much help from all of you who responded to my ...

Re: New to Apnea, CPAP and the forum.
Thanks for your help everyone. I really appreciate it. Last night I woke up in a panic feeling like I was practically choking on the pressure from the machine. It seems like when I was awake, I knew I had to exhale more forcefully. When I fell asleep it's like I forgot. I know that this is an adjust...

Re: New to Apnea, CPAP and the forum.
Well, I edited my profile and hopefully the equipment info will pop up now. But in case it doesn't, I have a GoodKnight 420G and a FlexiFit 431 full face mask. My machine is on a ramp setting (starts out at 6 and goes to 14 in a bout 10 min). I believe it is the same mask as I used in the study, but...

New to Apnea, CPAP and the forum.
Hello, as the title says, I am a newbie (sigh....). I got my CPAP machine today and I could swear I wasn't that uncomfortable when I had my sleep test done (I took an hour nap with it on today). I'm already fighting the back pressure on a 14 setting. Any advice for me? BTW, I really like the forum, ...
