Re: Side effects of CPAP
Wow Nodzy, that was inspiring. Yesterday where I live the news was full of reports of a "new" medical study that proves that sleep deprivation is harmful to one's health. They cited specifically inflammatory diseases, heart disease, and immune deficiency syndromes. Hard to understand now that was ne...

Re: Side effects of CPAP
Hawthorne, I just looked up the nasal prongs and I'm wondering if that would work for a side sleeper. The picture shows some kind of plastic (tubing?) going up either side of the head. I am currently using nasal pillows that are pretty comfortable, but I'm getting leaks.

Hi. I don't have a card reader yet and just brought my card to my doctor's office to see how I am doing with my new apap. I'm wondering, though, my apap has a cflex. What's the difference between a cflex and an aflex?

Is the Pad a Cheek product available for other mask straps besides Swift LT?

Re: Vocabulary List??
Wow - there is a lot to learn! I've copied a couple of pages of acronyms and other terminology into Word from the various sites suggested so I can print it for future use. A couple of questions remain (for now): What is "titrate?" Also, how do I know if I have an auto cpap machine? If I have an APAP...

Vocabulary List??
Hi. I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea over a year ago and am still struggling to find a machine and mask that work for me. I'm learning a lot here but there is much terminology with which I am unfamiliar. I've looked through "Our Wisdom" and read the "New User...

Re: aerophagia & APAP?
I'm so glad to read all of this. I've been using a cpap for a little over a year and wasn't aware of a forum until now. It's been a year of challenges: I'm on my 3rd mask design and my 3rd pap machine. Didn't use my cpap with cflex for the last two months because I could not stand the bloating anymo...
