Re: the rest of my sleep study test (cont)
Oh horsepuckies! My family doctor was the first one to order an overnight oximetry for me. He also was the one to order overnight 02 for me. And he was the one to order my first full PFT. This is the bad part about having kaiser. It is respiratory that is the only ones that can order oxygen and cpa...

Who this answers your question
Dan, did you have supplemental oxygen during ANY of the studies? Do you have the results of the PFT? You live in Denver, huh? The "Mile High City", as it were? That's significant, gotta calculate that variable in, too. No Supplemental oxygen was used during any of the sleep test. Also, I have not h...

Re: the rest of my sleep study test (cont)
I have pointed out several times that about the oxygen on the report, but kaiser continues to say I do not need it. I do have copies of my PFT and will post them. http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/dan_green/PFT12-3-07.jpg http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/pp129/dan_green/PFT12-27-07.jpg http...

[quote="jules"]That was what I was looking for - no centrals that night recorded - the first half of the night was no CPAP. Now with this follow up testing you have lots of centrals - imho there was no point talking about all the centrals without knowing if there were centrals during the diagnosis. ...

Re: the rest of my sleep study test (cont)
And Kaiser is "blowing you off" it seems. Kaiser seems to like to do that. Can you change insurance? Can you go back to this other doc and pay out of pocket? You indicate you are in Denver area- is there anything else? I know National Jewish is there but can you get to someone there? Maybe someone ...

Ha, Ozij!!! Your concern about the desaturations??? Did you notice that a PFT, ABG and T3H (can't read the last one) ... levels maybe?? I'm using Explorer but there's no magnifying glass in the corner and the one in the tool bar is for Search. I'm using Win XP. Dan, did you ever have those recommen...

Re: the rest of my sleep study test (cont)
Maybe I missed it but what I saw was the cpap / bipap part of the test. Did you post a part where on cpap or bipap was NOT used (diagnostic part)? What happened for them to get you to the lab with the machine trial? I was diagnosed in June 0f 2007. Here is a copy of that report. http://i404.photobu...

Dan, Were you diagnosed using a home study in the first place? If so what monitors did they use if you can remember? Were you only put in the lab for the cpap part of the test? What was the diagnosis you were give if you know that? I was diagnosed in the lab. I have posted my test on here for every...

Re: the rest of my sleep study test (cont)
I am back from the doc, and I returned the CPAP. I did not get to speak with the doc, and for me to get a VPAP would cost me $1,700.00 out of pocket. My doc will not make the VPAP medically needed. Kaiser is not willing to here what I have to say. I was look for a new doc and get back on the hose as...

If they are all centrals ... doesn't he need to be using the Sandman or P&B auto? No, not really. While it is very true he had far more apneas at higher pressures or bipap, Dan was having central apnea at lower pressures too, as can be seen on other page he posted. A Puritan Bennett or Sandman auto...

Re: How to read a sleep study test
The CPAP setting are set at 7cm-9cm, and I will try this for awhile and see if it helps. Dan, I'm still a little confused....sorry. 7cm-9cm sounds like a range of pressures to be used in "auto" mode. Sounds like setting the Vantage in "autoset" mode for a minimum pressure of 7 and a maximum pressur...
