Transcend battery questions
I need help from someone who has a Transcend CPAP with the P8 or P4 battery and a voltmeter. I would like to know the voltage when the battery is fully charged and the voltage after a night of use. Can anyone help me with this please? More info: I am planning a hiking trip in late November and need ...

Re: Moleskin and Medical Tape Users
I used tape and/or moleskin for years and it mostly worked to keep the blisters and raw sores off of my nose bridge. But they always tended to make my mask leak. Then I found boomerang gel pads designed to help with mask leaks and I very rarely have an issue with leaks or sores anymore. I'm never go...

Re: How is it to be off the Machine temporarily?
I took a trip about a year ago and forgot part of my mask at home. I slept 3 or 4 nights without my CPAP until I was able to receive a replacement part. The first night I slept badly and was pretty tired the next day, but it wasn't terrible. But each successive night I was more and more tired. I was...

Re: How many???
I brought it up to my doctor because I had been feeling tired, I had woke up a few times gasping for air when my alarm went off, and my Dad has sleep apnea. He quickly referred me to a sleep center.

Re: Help with Winter numbers?
My first instinct says turn up the heated humidifier. Wintertime is definitely more dry. Antihistamines dry your nose out more too.

Re: Nasal Aire II mask tip
When you bought your nasalaire II did it come with all 6 sizes? You sound like you are wearing the wrong size. Are you putting it too far up your nose? it only needs to go in an eighth of an inch (and My pressure is 20 and that's all I have to do) Try the next smaller size. that sounds like a lot o...

Nasal Aire II mask tip
Just thought I would share a simple mask tip with everyone. I don't know if it has been done already with this mask but here it is anyway. The problem: The nasal aire II mask rubs the inside edge of my left nostril raw. I tried different lubes but the only thing that worked was Triple Antibiotic Oin...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
My understanding is that the S9 requires an inverter which reduces efficiency by about 50%. The key is to have a device that you can supply with straight DC. Inverters aren't THAT inefficient. They are usually between 85-95% efficient. Many people run their heated humidifier when on an inverter tho...

Re: Power failure last night
Ultimately, I would like a system that switches automatically to DC in the event of a power failure and then back to AC when it comes back on. It's be great if I could use it camping as well. If you're considering buying a new machine, the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP machines do a great job of automatical...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
According to Resmed's Battery Guide all the Resmed machines are pretty power hungry compared to some other machines. After further examination of Resmed's document it looks like the Resmed machines aren't as power hungry as I thought. The amp-hour requirements listed in that document have a "50% sa...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
You should not discharge even a "deep discharge" type lead-acid technology battery below ~50% of rated capacity if you want a reasonable service life out of it. Cheers, Bill From : http://www.windsun.com/Batteries/Battery_FAQ.htm#Lifespan%20of%20Batteries Cycles vs Life A battery "cycle" is one com...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
Actually turning c-flex ON saves power because you are using a lower pressure part of the time (when exhaling).B_4 wrote:I am going with a PR System One DS250. Does turning CFLEX off save power?

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
I just went the Orwell 266 lithium ion route because it was slightly cheaper, lighter weight and I can charge it off my motorcycle aux plug while riding. I bought the Resmed 12v converter for my S8 Autoset II and was told I can turn my humidifier off and use in a passover mode. I also have an Aeiom...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
A 12180 UPS battery should work fine and will be a little more power (18 amp-hour) vs the Respironics battery (14.4ah). You can charge it with a "battery tender plus" which is a 1.25A charger/maintainer that will work with AGM type batteries (the type used in UPS systems) as well as other small seal...

Re: CPAP Camping Rig
Thoughts? I don't know what the "official" battery pack is...... I just got an Optima Blue top. I got the "official" Mseries adpt. from cpap.com and the cigarette battery adpt. at Radio Shack. ~$230 total. http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo201/cpapman/cpap1.jpg http://i376.photobucket.com/albums...
