Re: New Exercise to Reduce Mouth Leakage

Rooster - actually I have thought about using a Hybrid or Liberty. What is the biggest difference between them? I haven't gotten around to checking out how often I can get a new mask from my insurance - I'm too busy trying to help my family have fun I have five grown sons, four daughters-in-law and ...

Re: New Exercise to Reduce Mouth Leakage

Raj, thanks for posting your idea. I'm still having a little problem with mouth leaking. I can't wait to try this. I have no luck with taping and the chin strap drives me crazy. Sorry, you FF people; I just don't think I could wear one.

Re: Swift LT vs. Opus 360

Thanks, Georgio, for the report. I tried the suggestion from BadBreath, and it worked great for one night. The next night it was back to leaking. Maybe I will try the Swift LT. Thanks, again.

Re: Swift LT vs. Opus 360

Please let us know how you like the Swift Lt compared to the Opus 360. I, too, am having trouble with mine. When I first started treatment (maybe August) I used a demo Opus. It was great, I loved it, and thought this is easy. I used it over a month and then bought my own. Ever since I have trouble g...

Re: where to start?!!

Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new, too, and these guys and gals are great. I've learned so much. I thought my mask was fine (An Opus 360), but now I'm having trouble. Everyone here will help you, just give them all the details you can.

Re: New problems

I have decided to watch my stats every night and keep a record. I will also note if I have made any changes. I see my doctor on next Tuesday, so I'll discuss it with him, and hope he understands. My husband says I have to decide what I need to make this work, and he'll make sure we can afford it. He...

New problems

I've been on APAP since July or August. I was going along great, until I had to exchange my demo mask for my own. Same brand and type of mask; just now I own it. I've been having problems adjusting it. I'm getting frustrated. Also, I've been sleeping much more soundly after getting used to the treat...

Re: Unneeded part?

Thanks Ozij, that's the part. It could be there because I also was using oxygen. Now that the oxygen has been discontinued, it isn't needed, and that may be the reason the valve is opening up. I don't know, really don't care, and will disconnect it.

Thanks so much.

Re: Unneeded part?

It is hooked up right before my mask. So on the Opus 360 when I have the mask hooked to the top of my head, it's right behind that. The extra valve came with the things I got from the DME. It has a tube on each end that hooks up to the hoses, and is wider in the middle with some kind of spring loade...

Unneeded part?

Help, please. My DME set up my apap machine. Now, after all these months, I notice a part called, "Pressure Valve." The number is 302418. I've looked it up on the Respironics web site and it appears to go with a Bipap S/T system. Do I need this on my Apap system? I don't think so, but wanted your op...

Re: Is all this really worth it?

Thank you, deadhead, for asking us the question in the first place. It made me, and I think others here, remember how blessed we are to have a treatment and each other. Good luck as you continue on!

Re: Is all this really worth it?

Yes, it's worth it. I knew it was, but really found out today. Before I started cpap I was tired a lot, snored a lot, and was pretty forgetful. But I didn't realize how bad it was until they had a hard time waking me up from a colonoscopy. Had a sleep study and found out my oxygen levels were under ...

Re: confused about software and card reader

Ok - I know I'm forgetful sometimes, but I hope I'm not hallucinating. Wasn't there just a post about websites that indicate that Encore Pro might be available as freeware? Where did that go?

Opus 360 vs Swift LT question + other stuff

Hi again. I've only posted once or twice before and at that time everything was fine. I've been "on the hose" (oh, how I HATE that term) since the middle of July. At first I was pretty unhappy with the nurse practitioner who sees me, but since then, he has changed his tune a little. I guess he found...
