Re: I Think I'm In Trouble

I think that its unbelievable and inexcusable that a doctor would refuse to answer ANY questions. He didn't defer to others or say he didn't know, he just said that he wouldn't answer any questions, and then used the sleep study report as coercion to make sure he didn't have to. In my mind this is a...

Re: I Think I'm In Trouble

Without hesitation he says -"if you ask me any questions I will tear your sleep study up". And Without hesitation I would have responded with, I own the results of that study. I paid good money for it. You work for me, if you aren't willing to answer my questions about my healthcare, I'll fire you ...

Re: Microsoft Developing Hardware for Sleep Apnea

In all seriousness, I will wait for someone to open source it and run it on Linux. Why not hack the hardware and do it yourself? Isn't that the Linux credo? We expect so much from our operating systems...most of the time its not the OS that fails, but the hardware, software or user. There isn't any...

Re: Microsoft Developing Hardware for Sleep Apnea

DOS is not and never was easy to use. It's far beyond the grasp of most end users. If we were still using DOS as an OS, only the geeks among us would have computers in our homes. Apple created the GUI as we know Windows. Apple approached the Palo Alto Group asking if Apple could use their GUI and p...

Re: Microsoft Developing Hardware for Sleep Apnea

I love to bash M$, but in reality, they've done a great job of getting PC's into the market. When I started playing with computers back in the early 90's they were phenomenally expensive. A VGA (64x480 resolution) monitor would set you back nearly $2000 and the video card was another grand. The comp...

Re: Are You a Night Owl or a Morning Lark?

Through most of my life I was a night owl. My parents said as a baby I would wake from a "nap" at around 10 pm, play in my crib till around 3-4 am, then back to sleep until about 10-11. I've always found it easier to stay up as opposed to getting up. That's all change in the past 10 years or so, now...

Re: Encore Pro Analyzer for 64bit Windows

Are you sure you want it? It doesn't sound like it works with EPA... I got it from an employee at my DME, he downloaded it using his Resperonics account. He was about the only person there that was helpful...perhaps too helpful, he no longer works there. He tended to discount things heavily if you a...

Re: Snoring and how it affects us

I guess I should start keeping a sleep journal. Try to associate my tiredness with something. I'm feeling much better, but I'd still like to feel rested most of the time. My titrated pressure was 10...however I have my range on my APAP set at 10-20. I've seen pressures as high as 16(!) in the report...

Snoring and how it affects us

I'm curious. I have very good AHI numbers, typically around 1 and decent leak rates...but my VS numbers are typically around 10 or higher. What kind of affect does this have on my sleep? I've been averaging around 9-9.5 hours of sleep a night since I first started PAP therapy, but I still feel tired...

Re: I'm just sayin'

Can someone explain to me how those changes over the years have helped their customers, the DMEs? Let's start with the smaller lighter prettier concept. As technology has improved the ability to make the design smaller has been easier. Making it smaller also cost less in packaging, shipping and raw...

Re: I'm just sayin'

Remember that its the DME's that are the customers here...they don't want you to be able to read the data from the machine, they want to charge you do read it for you. If it doesn't generate cash for the DME, they could care less about the functions of the machine. Why do you think so many of them h...

Re: I'm just sayin'

How about a backlit display? How about a more power efficient device? How about an internal battery backup that will run the machine in the event of a power outage? They could have the humidifier in pass over mode for this. How about a mask that is comfortable AND works. I started a thread about thi...

Re: Encore Pro Analyzer for 64bit Windows

I'm running EPA on Windows 7. What version of Encore Pro are you running? 1.8? I'm running 1.8.69 I did install a previous version of EPA. Prior to installing ver 0.9 of EPA, I did an uninstall using control panel of the version I had installed, then installed the newest version of EPA. The funny t...

Re: Motor Home experience and DME troubles

I'm aware that mouth breathing would cause a dry mouth, however, this is when I am not using my normal humidifier setting. My throat is dry, not my mouth. I have encore pro and a card reader...my leak rate is well within the norm for the mask I have.
