Re: Buy Smart Card for Remstar?
I don't know if this is related, but back when the M Series was the machine to own, it was common practice to re-format the card after each 7-day download. I still do that to this day. Every Sunday I download the card's contents and then format it using the MyCPAP Card Utility before putting it back...

Re: Lung and chest pain ...
Very interesting timing on this thread. I've been on CPAP for 3 1/2 years now and have done pretty well with it after the first few months. I use it all night every night, and have an average AHI of about 1.5. About two months ago I started with a completely non-productive cough coinciding with a fe...

Re: copy of Doctors orders
I simply asked my doc for an Rx that included:
Auto CPAP, pressure 9-14 CM/H2O
CPAP Mask
CPAP Humidifier
Pulse Oximeter
Physician's contact information
Physician's signature
Patient's full name
He said, "Sure," and wrote it exactly that way.

Re: Why do people give up?
I've "felt like crap" for most of my life. But the first 3 months on CPAP were even worse, with each day seemingly worse than the last. To this day I'm not sure what kept me from chucking the whole mess. I'm glad I didn't, but I can sure understand why someone would.

Re: CMS-50E Pulse Oximeter back in stock at Amazon
Nope, the link no longer works and if you search for cms-50e from the Amazon home page now, nothing is found.lazer wrote:Both the Amazon links lead me to a product not found page... Maybe it's an issue with my tablet's browser as my desktop pc is currently down awaiting an RMA for a hard drive replacement.

Re: Flying with cpap
I've boarded planes about a dozen times since I started CPAP - Kansas City, Chicago, Altanta, San Diego, Minneapolis, Puerto Rico. I think it helps (at least for my own convenience) to have a separate case for the machine. The WORST that has happened is when a security agent asked, "Is that a CPAP?"...

Re: Hybrid mask users....Please help!!
Here's a shot of how I've used floss. It's just two wraps around the underside of the pillows and then knotted several times so it can't come apart. I found that two wraps hold up far better than one, and can go many weeks between replacement even when getting washed with soap & water every day. The...

Re: Hybrid mask users....Please help!!
I may have posted the original thread on the floss (or maybe someone posted something similar earlier), but I'll try to put up a picture of that this evening. I don't have the Innomed version but that shouldn't matter as far as that goes.

Current state of oximeters
When I went on CPAP 3 1/2 years ago, I bought an SPO7500 for the usual reason - I wanted some definite proof that CPAP was working for me. I don't use it often, only as a spot/random check, a few times per year at most (my saturation has never fallen below the mid-90's). But, I'm very glad I have it...

Lacking that option, could you use one of these in passover mode?

Re: Supreme Court and the Individual Mandate
I'll take the pre-existing disease coverage that Obamacare requires. And in exchange, you'll forfeit every other right that any bureaucrat, now or in the future, decides is contrary to public health. SUV's, guns, movie popcorn, the list is literally endless. If I administer your health care and I c...

Re: Supreme Court and the Individual Mandate
Think healthcare is expensive now? Wait until it's free. The system we have doesn't work very well for enough people. I've gone from being one of the many who say "leave it alone," to one of those who believe we do need some sort of "universal" system. But I guarantee you, if the government owns it ...

John, I've never even heard of RERA - so I'll do some reading up, check my last study, and look into this. Thank you!

Re: Resistance to inhalation
Right, I see no basis on which to blame the mask. Besides, I long ago tried nasal masks & chin straps. They were some of the least effective things I've tried so far.
