Re: Need advice from guys with facial hair.
I hope the following will help. I've been on CPAP for a little over six months and have had to make some tough (at least to me) decisions. I have a full beard and moustache and have had for almost 40 years. I had the same problems as your husband with keeping a seal. I used several FFM's but could n...

Re: medical equipment
If this is a poll, I'll wholeheartedly vote for #2: ensure local DMEs go out of business or quit carrying CPAP altogether.

Re: Are we overthinking this leak thing ?
Carbonman I absolutely do not hate you. I am, however, a trifle jealous of your leak line. You should be proud of it. The reason I replied to this post in the first place was that I wanted information. I have tried to do everything (within reason to me anyway) possible to obtain perfect results. But...

Re: Are we overthinking this leak thing ?
Carbonman Thanks for your input. Maybe you can answer a couple of questions that have been stumping me from the get go. 1. How does one get a leak line showing average leak 8-10 lpm below the printed flow charts in the manual for the mask you show in your profile? I am assuming that the charts in th...

Re: Are we overthinking this leak thing ?
Mike Thanks for your post. I, also have the same questions , but did not really know how to ask them. I've only been hosed since 30 July. I'm beginning to feel much better for the second time since then. The first time I felt better I realized that my leaks were unacceptable and almost became obsess...

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
Precisely, The manufacturer has repeatedly shown that they don't care. They will only sell and stand behind those retailers that will deal inside their "price-fixed" paramaters. Now, I may be wrong, but if you look closely at cpapauction.com you may draw the same conclusions that I have. That is tha...

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
Guest,
I have to disagree. Respironics CAN force the DME to live by their policies. Either that or they should discontinue dealing with that DME. Simple as that!!

Re: Respironics customer service is USELESS
I'm with you Goofproof. I've been waiting over a month for a return call from one of their techs. All I wanted to know is whether the sizing of the Comfort Gel Full Face mask was identical to the sizing of the Comfort Full II. I thought it was a fairly easy question. At first I was told by the lady ...

Re: CPAP Auction
I recently purchased a NEW MSerires Pro unit with smart card and heated humidifier to use for travel and as a backup machine. I frequently travel by motorcycle and needed a unit that was small enough to fit in a saddlebag and was able to store data that was compatible with the software that I alread...

Re: Another Newbie Needing Help
I thank you all so much for the info. Yes, I have done the teflon tape thing, at least on the inside elbow where it attaches to the mask. Just for my information, if the expiratory flush is app 40 lpm at a pressure of 12cm h20, what then would be an acceptable leak number. Do I subtract the 40 lpm f...

Another Newbie Needing Help
Good Day All, I've been lurking since late July when I was diagnosed with moderate to severe OSA. I was titrated at 10 on 7/23. We had gotten a late start in the lab and 10 was as high as they were able to go due to time constraints. Anyway, my question pertains primarily to leak issues. I feel myse...

Re: Beer and Sleep
This is what I've found as a result of my experimentation. If I have one (sorry, I can't remember ever having only one) make that three or more cool, frosty beverages I have no problems with a rise in AHI. My AHI is constantly under 2.5. I think the reason for this is that I am not as active in my s...
