Re: I Just HAVE To Share This !!!

Wow - thanks for sharing - this is an amazing story!!

I will keep a copy with me to share with people I meet who are skeptical about the seriousness of sleep apnea.

Re: Trying To Get AHI to Reasonable Level on BiPap Auto

Hi mike, I agree with Den, if you have no underling medical problems. I would set my Epap to 8, leave Ipap along, set SP to 6 and Biflex to 3 and see if that doesn't help eliminate some of the OA's. Everything else looks good. Dan Hi Dan, Den Thanks for the feedback. So currently, looks like my ori...

Trying To Get AHI to Reasonable Level on BiPap Auto

Hi About a week ago, my Dr. switched me over from a Respironics Auto CPAP to a Respironics Auto BiLevel to see if that might reduce my Aerophagia Issues (nothing else seems to have worked) I'm ok with interpreting the graphs from my APAP machine but not yet used to the EncorePro graphs from my Auto ...

Re: endoscopy and colonoscopy for cpap users

I'm having an endoscopy and colonoscopy this Fri. I was concerned about having apneas so I asked my dr who said not to worry because I won't be asleep that long. I'm scared. Anybody had experience with this? I'm sure you will be fine, though it's definitely worth mentioning the SA. I had an Endosco...

Re: Why Does Reqd. Pressure Vary So Much from Night to Night ?

Have you considered that you might need a full face mask because you could be mouth breathing, at least intermittently, overnight? It happens to so many of us. Hi Julie Yes you are right, I should probably consider a full face mask - however, I did try taping my mouth for a few weeks & seemed to ge...

Why Does Reqd. Pressure Vary So Much from Night to Night ?

Hi I have been on Auto CPAP for about 12 months now and have been monitoring my progress with the use of EncorePro software. (You may have noticed in another post that I am currently suffering from bloating issues & at my Doctor's suggestion, I am going to try an Auto BiLevel shortly, to see if that...

Re: Looking for Help Choosing an Auto BiLevel Machine

Thanks for the replies. I am still trying to get some more info from the DME, but should be able to compare both a Respironics and a Resmed on Friday. At the moment I am leaning towards the Respironics, mainly because it looks like I would still be able to use my Respironics EncorePro software with ...

Looking for Help Choosing an Auto BiLevel Machine

Hi Haven't been on here for quite a while, but glad to see many of the same names on board - apart from SnoreDog (RIP) - must have missed that announcement - sorry to hear of his passing - he gave me some valuable advice when I first started. I have been on Auto CPAP for about a year & it was workin...

SF Bay Oral Appliance Recommendation & Cost Info ?

Hi I have moderate Sleep Apnea (AHI=30), though I suspect it has been getting worse... (last sleep study was done 12 months ago). I have been on a APAP machine for the last 12 months - I got great results for the first 6 months, but since then, I have had severe gas/bloating issues - this has meant ...

Re: Anyone here taking Norvasc or Amlodipine ?

I quit taking the Norvasc and the restless leg went away so I am very hesitant to try them again. Another thing is that I went online to check to see if others had restless leg on the pills and oddly I didn't find that symptom to much but I found many other horror stories! YIKES. It isn't a good id...

Re: ED, Only 74% recovery after treatment?

'Erectile dysfunction (ED) in cases of obstructive sleep apnea is associated with oxygen deprivation and can be reversed through adherence to standard oxygen levels and medication, according to a study in the journal American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. The study examined mic...

Re: Would you keep tinkering if this were you?

Looks great - I would be really happy if I could reach a consistent AHI of less than 1.5 - I've finally been able to get mine down to about 3.0 most nights, so I still have a way to go. I think you're pretty close to Nirvana, as long as you are also feeling much more rested & have lot's of energy......
