Dry itchy eyes?
I restarted CPAP after a many-year break three weeks ago. Generally, it's going fine. The AirFit P10 is amazingly comfortable, and the Dreamstation is quiet and feels easier to breathe with than my old ResMed S8 did. But! Every night, I end up with incredibly dry, painfully itchy eyes. If the exhala...

Re: Tired of CPAP!!
I understand this. I've been lapsed lately, and I'm trying to figure out what's stopping me. I think the biggest is that I don't notice any difference in how I feel, whether I wear the mask or not. I have a good machine that lets me view data, and I can see that it's working and not leaking. My part...

Re: Resmad Vantage autoset
Do you happen to actually have an Autoset II? They added EPR in APAP mode for the 2nd generation.

Re: Drooling
I have always been somewhat of a drooler, but it feels like since I started with xPAP I've started drooling even more. Much more! I do have a data-capable machine, and I can tell that my therapy has brought my AHI down to ~3, so it's not a matter of my OSA not being treated. I haven't figured out an...

Re: Mask Wipes?
I like the Citrus II wipes, and they have what appears to be a very non-toxic and simple bunch of ingredients. One thing I do to save wipes is rotate between a couple of sets of pillows, and then use one wipe to wipe them all off once they're all used. This works fine because the wipes are huge if y...

Re: Nose has an ouch...Ayr question
I use the Ayr every day, and have found that I have more leaks and discomfort if I forget. And the Ayr gel was specifically recommended to me by my DME because of being safe to use with silicone nasal pillows I use. I'm sure there are many things that are not safe with silicone - I've heard that pet...

Painful sore throat, but no leaking - what might it be?
In the morning after using my CPAP (I've been using it for about a month, and I keep it on all night pretty consistently), I wake up with a painfully sore throat. It fades after a few hours, but recurs every morning. The first suspect is mouth-breathing, of course, but my APAP has never reported an ...

Re: Mirage Swift LT
I use Ayr Gel n my nares to help keep the nasal pillows from causing irritation. A very thin coat of chapstick seems to help also. The Ayer saline gel works great for me, too. The one night I forgot to put it on, I had discomfort and a much higher leak rate. Using chapstick could be a problem, thou...

It was the RT's opinion that the air is swallowed in a response to the mouth opening during treatment, and air being blown into the mouth. I have read that it is either that, or air being forced down past the relevant flap. I had already decided that it couldn't be about mouth breathing, but tried t...

Leak rate too good to be true?
I'm about to hit my third week of treatment, and I'm still trying to figure out what's best for me. I was waking up with bad gas pains, which the tech said must mean mouth-breathing, and she told me to wear a chin strap. Now, I'm a bit confused by this assumption about mouth breathing. Wouldn't my m...

From my experience, I can say that it's also very much the case that side-effects, including effects on sleep, are very often worse during the first week or two on a new antidepressant. So if you just started on a medication, and found that your sleep feels wrong again, don't immediately worry that ...
