Re: Weekly Mask Cleaning---OverKill ???

I've been on CPAP for one month exactly today (happy anniversary to me...). Initially, I cleaned my equipment (now have the activa mask) as recommended, then due to lazyness and other posts about cleaning dropped to once a week. THEN.... I went to a OSA awareness meeting and the doc spoke about clea...

Re: aussie heated hose experience

Hi Marsha, Regarding your the oil prices here in Boston; latest refil was 3.69 for regular unleaded. It's been worse earlier in the summer. I'm just worried about heating these horrible uninsulated apartements here. I'm originally from Canada where homes are PROPERLY insulated and you don't spend pr...

aussie heated hose experience

Hi All, Winter is a-comin' and I was wondering what people using the australian heated hose thought of it (I live in the northeast in one of those horrible apartments where the heat comes on and cooks you then shuts off and lets you freeze !!!!). I heard it can take 2 months to get one of those hose...

Re: Mirage Activa Nasal Mask Nosiy?

i have not had that problem. even at a pressure of 12 I haven't found it noisy. I have the hose coming from above my head with the Hozer attachment so the rushing air is going upwards. If I had it over my covers I can see it being pretty loud though.

Rooster, I did notice somewhere on this site at a while back a copy of the HIPPA laws which stated clearly that our medical records are ours if the organization accepts any federal plans. I always thought our health records were ours regardless. Anyway, I remember one doctor refusing to give me a co...

gman,
EXACTLY MY EXPERIENCE! I fought for an a-flex and thought I won. I ended up with a c-flex and now consider myself lucky that I got an APAP at all.
Very disgusted by this industry. Very money oriented.

about leak curve... not too sure how to answer that "professionally". The RT showed me some graphs and the leaking was not bad, if that means anything. She did state that most of the leaks were at the higher pressures. I ordered encore viewer. hopefully I can see and review things in a non rushed ma...

You're right about concentrating on the pressure settings. In fact this morning I went to see my RT because my APAP showed I was getting an AHI of 6.5 (only know this because I went on line and found a way to "unlock" my machine to tell me this since the RT blocked out this info from my APAP (WHY???...

rooster,
I'm not sure what I'm trying to solve. Newbie I guess. I just figured that is if there is a humidifier the air should be humid when used. Actually, I get nosebleeds occasionally (unrelated to APAP or anything really) so I wanted to avoid this...
