Re: will cental obstuction be diagnosed at the sleep clinic?
I haven't seen the other thread - my apologies of this is a repetition. a-pnea mean not-breathing. The breathing stop can originate in a physically obstructed airway, and would then be an obstructive apnea. Or the breathing stop can happen when your airway is wide open - and originate in your centr...

Re: what questions should I ask for at the sleep clinic
If you are talking about the mixed apnea with central and onstuction together yes. The sleep study picked up my Centrals and Obstuctions as well as the mixed. So the answer is yes. It will pick up everything. Even RLS Thanks, the doc thinks I have both, the central being more than it was when I fir...

Re: will cental obstuction be diagnosed at the sleep clinic?
thanks Marsha, i didn't notice the second page, daah!, what I mean by central obstruction is a neurological situation where me brain doesn't signal me to breath, at least that's what I understand it to be. So you like the Uilleanns too They are a special magic. off to my original post for page 2! Ta...

what questions should I ask for at the sleep clinic
I finally have my night at the sleep clinic a week from today. What should I ask for besides the correct pressure for my machine? I want to have a written list that I may get the most out of this rare occasion. Will they be able to discover central obstructions on their PC I will be connected to? So...

Re: How much did you pay for your recent sleep study ?
Mine was $2600. at the sleep lab in 2003, but the chariety hospital where I go paid it in full, or I'd be washing masks in the kitchen . I lucked out in that a sales rep for cpap equipment bought a house next door for a rental and he has kept me supplied in masks and hoses since 'o3 at no cost to me...

microwave throat?
About 5 years ago, when I first went on cpap, I heard a doctor on a radio program that treated apnea by microwaving the throat. He said the scar tissue from the heat tighten up the throat and it was an out patient proceedure. Any of you ever heard of this, my doc hasn't

Hey Tansey, Ever contemplate dressing up funny and bringing your pipes to a living history event? We've got a cute little piper who comes up from Dothan to Wetumpka to attend Frontier Days at Fort Toulouse. And other events. Can't have too many pipers. Your ancestry is calling you. http://www.fttou...

Re: OT: Any musicians here?

Tansey i come from a very musical irish family; my father was a professional musician for many years; one of my brothers played drums in a band; another brother is lead singer in two awesome celtic bands and plays m...
