Re: Inspire and hypoventilation
How could it possibly help? Exactly. What I understand is that the INSPIRE delivers mild stimulation to the tongue nerve to prevent the tissues from becoming flaccid. If a patient is not experiencing airway obstruction, but rather "shallow breathing", stimulation of the tongue will accomplish nothi...

Re: Inspire and hypoventilation
I make it a practice to be very skeptical of what the marketing/PR folks say about their product.

Inspire and hypoventilation
I can understand the theory that stimulation by an Inspire device may control obstructive apnea events, but the effectiveness of Inspire to control hypoventilation (non-obstructive)/ hypopnea events seems (to me) to be dubious. Should Inspire be considered for a patient with 90% non-obstructive even...

Re: Upgrading The Defunct Resmed 2G/3G Modems
So like I originally said, you don't have a clue about MyAir. Several forum members seemed to think that their clinicians were using MyAir, but that is probably incorrect. That is the CLUE that I offered in the first place and that was the principle point I wanted to make, to avoid confusion. Appar...

Dogslobber: No misquote, here is what you said: You are completely wrong about what MyAir is. Nothing dishonest about that at all, it’s EXACTLY what you said. ***************************** Clinicians and DME use AirView. Personally I don’t use MyAir at all, but when I set up originally the app requi...

Confusion about Drs and DMEs using “MyAir”….when questioned about how they get data, my guys say that “AirView” is what they use, not “MyAir”
As I understand it MyAir is a Bluetooth driven app, while “AirView” is driven by access to the cellular modem in the users device.

Re: Strong correlation between movements, flow rate dislocations and appearance of apneas?
Strange that's never been considered before... Of course it's been considered before, but normally for standard domestic users it (false positives) is couched in speculation. Use of an accelerometer (such as the ring) or recording oximeter can provide evidence thereby limiting the need for speculat...

Re: Strong correlation between movements, flow rate dislocations and appearance of apneas?
Very interesting and important implication! The operating theory with consumer XPAP devices is that disruptions of flow is caused by airway collapse, full or partial. The remedial action to this collapse is to apply additional pressure.* However if some flow disruptions are actually caused by moveme...

Re: Trying to figure out how to use P95 And P Mean data on report so i can adjust APAP ranges if necessary
@jman1965 If it not otherwise obvious, the indexed numbers (AHI, SNI, etc) are simply the number of events (of that type) divided by to total hours that the Luna is running. Consequently, Assume that you have your Luna running for 8 hours. It is possible that you could have 8 apneas in one hour but ...

Re: Trying to figure out how to use P95 And P Mean data on report so i can adjust APAP ranges if necessary
It is the mask that establishes the intentional leak rate, not the machine. Leak rates that are in excess of the intentional rate are unintentional and the user should strive to minimize these.
Documentation that accompanies the mask will reveal the intentional leak rate at various pressures.

Re: Trying to figure out how to use P95 And P Mean data on report so i can adjust APAP ranges if necessary
I pulled up my compliance report on my Luna 11, it shows P95 8.0 cmH2o and P Mean 6.5 cmH20 AHI 0.1 SNI 0.0 Leak 24.4 LPM. I am trying to decipher what theses values mean. What do those values mean? P95 of 8.5 means that 95% of your session was at a pressure of 8.0 OR LESS P is the simple average p...
