Just curious - when did you get the OK to speak for Cpap.com (the red line at the end of your notes)?
My signature line simply repeats the disclaimer that appears at the bottom of each cpaptalk window. Not my words, the words of the host.
Did you have an on-topic comment?

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?

FWIW: Here's the theory : Airway obstructions will cause the nervous system to react (gasping, awakening, arousals etc) in an attempt to correct the problem. This stimulation of the nervous system is not just confined to the throat, lungs etc but is reflected in many other systems throughout the bod...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

I know what ensue means.
The opening in my 432 mask is 2.25 inches; significantly larger than the average nostril.

Let go, already.

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

Ganny was using an analogy . The analogy seems to have confused you. and yet Granny says she purposely avoided using an analogy "an analogy would be too much" The point: Be careful when making the nostril openings larger. They have to seal around your nares. if that was the point that Granny was tr...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

The nostril opening in the mask does not have to be, and actually should not be, as big as the entrance to the nostril. In fact, if the mask opening is as big as the nostril opening, leaks will ensue. Look at the openings on any models of nasal pillows. They are always smaller than the nostril open...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

@Tyrinryan.... So I tried to assess if there was any silicone that was blocking the nostrils. Here's what I did: set up the mask per normal and adjusted it on my face till I was getting no leakage at all. Then I removed the elbow (so that the frame and headgear were still in place), laid back with m...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

I experienced the same problem. I read somewhere, perhaps on this forum, that you can cut the silicone to enlarge the holes. As well someone said to use a punch to make the holes instead of scissors. I used scissors, but I couldn't cut evenly enough and the silicone ripped at the place of the imper...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

Which makes me wonder which mask frame and cushions you're using. Are you sure you have the right cushion for the right frame? I think the two cushions (small and medium) both are used with the same frame, so I'm fairly confident that I have the appropriate frame. On looking at what I said above, I...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

That's while you are awake. Yes, that is what I'm comparing when I said the F30 took more effort (while trying to sleep) versus the F432 (while trying to sleep). It takes about twice as long to enter sleep and I found that the only way I can get to sleep with the F30 is by breathing through my mout...

IF/when the pillow goes inside the nares that does reduce the area for air to flow by.
Just to be clear, with this mask, nothing "goes inside the nares", rather there are two windows cut out of the silicone seal that presumably are to be aligned with the nares openings.

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

I was fitted/sized for the medium F30 by the DME, They did a leak check and adjusted the headgear. (at home I tried the smaller cushion and the larger cushion but the medium seemed best) Now, this is why I'm asking: For years I've been using a FP 432 that surrounds the mouth and nose (that is to say...

Re: alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

I was asking about the F30, the f30i appears to be a different design.
Are there "holes"or "ports" in the cushion (silicone seal) of the F30i? (I can't tell from the marketing images)

alignment of F30 "ports" with nares

Has anyone found a way to align the airway holes on the F30 cushion with actual location of their nares?
(I am trying out the F30 versus F432 mask)

Re: Choosing a mask

dataq1 at 78 myself I find your list of regular Doc visits a bit short. I would add my Dentist, Dermatologist, Chiropractor and imaging center. Yep, Derm twice annually, Dentist & hygienist minimum 3X/year, PCP min 3X/year, Ureo 1X/year, pedo 3X/year, AND imaging center whenever I need a new passpo...
