Re: Resmed M series humidifier not working
Those are not silly suggestions, but I did think of them, too. I put the same thought into it that I do when my cable modem goes out and needs rebooting. I unplugged EVERYTHING, disconnected all cables and wires from everything to discharge any built up static electricity that might be causing any g...

Re: Resmed M series humidifier not working
Thanks so much for the support, France!! It is nice to have someone understand me!!! I love sleeping with moist air, the dry air is just torture! My humidifier does not usually dry out on me unless I get a really good long night of sleep with my mask on. I have issues with masks leaking (I have a sm...

Re: Resmed M series humidifier not working
Oooo...no....I like my humidity high. I sleep better, my skin stays better under the mask (FF mask) and my mask seals better. With just passover, I am just tolerating it and it only gets me about two hours before I am taking it off. I think I'll try going to Apria first and see if they can get me a ...

Re: Resmed M series humidifier not working
Must...have...high...humidity....!!!!!!!! Air.....in....Colorado....is...very...DRY...!!! Actually, I had it set at 4 (it goes up to 5). I am continuing to do the passover method because I have to have some kind of humidity or I will shrivel up like a raisin in the sun! Plus, and here is the weird t...

Resmed M series humidifier not working
I searched the boards and do not see this subject anywhere. I have the Resmed M Series (700) auto bi-pap and my humidifier suddenly stopped working!! The unit is about 6 months old. The blue led light on the humidifier unit is flashing, which the manual says means it is not communicating with the ma...

Re: High Altitude CPAP experiences and treatment
Not such a "duh" questions as you think, Pineapple!!! I had no idea there was an "altitude" setting on my machine!!! OK...so I'll go pull my trusty manual out and see what I need to do. After further perusing the CPAPtalk boards, I am wondering if it is because I am getting a FULL night of sleep on ...

High Altitude CPAP experiences and treatment
Hi, folks! I have a couple questions about using CPAP at higher altitudes. I recently moved from sea level (FL) to a little over 5,000 above sea level (CO Front Range) and I am wondering if there should be changes made to my titration to accomodate for this change in altitude. Higher altitudes mean ...

Re: high pressure = leaky mask
I am finding that all masks have their pros and cons at these higher pressures. It is the amount of cons I am willing to live with, I guess, that will determine my outcome. The thing that stinks is that I am STILL waking up at night, just not from the apnea! Now it is from the treatment for the apne...

Re: high pressure = leaky mask
Thanks, Bev! I don't think I'd hang my hose, since I keep the machine on a stool next to my bed. It keeps is low enough that it does not disturb hubby, and it prevents rain-out. The hose doesn't really seem to be the problem, anyway. However....the pad-a-cheek suggestion may be a way for me to go. I...

Re: high pressure = leaky mask
No....I had another sleep study and they gradually increased my pressure in the study until it got to the point that it caused me the minimal amount of apnea events. 19 ended up being the pressure it finally took to give me the relief I needed. However....I saw the doc today and told him what was go...

Re: high pressure = leaky mask
I have been told that nasal pillows do not work at higher pressures, but I love my Liberty. I wish it would work effectively at this higher pressure. I have used the Resmed Mirage Micro nasal mask, the Fisher-Paykel FlexiFit 406 nasal mask, and the Liberty I now have (I guess I've only had three mas...

high pressure = leaky mask
I need the help of this awesome board!! I was recently increased from 11 on CPAP to 19 on Auto Bi-PAP. My favorite mask while at 11 on the CPAP was the Mirage Liberty (size small for my small face). My nose is super sensitive and gets pressure sores with ANY nasal mask I tried. The Liberty seemed to...

Re: Cpap and women
Thanks for the update on the Hypoallergenic MicroPore tape!! Since I am allergic to even plain ol' Band-Aids, the hypoallergenic tape is important! Now...the next thing I need is hypoallergenic Band-Aids!! But it would be really nice if my local pharmacy sold them instead of me having to order them ...

Re: Apnea = Hypoxia = Permanent Vision Loss
I work for an Ophthalmologist and recently I came across an article in one of the journals he receives that shows a possible link between CPAP treatment and glaucoma (my antennae were twitching like crazy when I saw the letters "CPAP" on the table of contents page). It was a small study, of only rec...

Re: Turn off / dim M Series lights?
I don't remember who posted it....or I'd give all props where they belong...but the sticky notes taped over the lights are GENIUS!!! You can see the lights underneath well enough to turn on/off, ramp on, etc, etc, but the lights become dim enough to not offend sleepers like me who need total darknes...
